About Me
I am a mother to twin girls aged 13 a 6 year old and a second set of twin girls aged 10months. I live at home in a new build property with my husband and 3 children. All of my girls attend and enjoy full time school/nursery and enjoy a range of activities outside of school. In our free time we enjoy nature walks, visiting the library and creating lots of wonderful crafty things. I very much enjoy baking, singing and reading. We have zoo memberships so a weekly visit there is also a must.
Our house is always a busy one with Lots going on. We are very welcoming, inclusive of all and thoroughly enjoy having a home full of happy children.
I am a very passionate individual when it comes to caring for children and enjoy watching them learn and develop in all areas.
I would say that as a child care provider , I am caring, patient and nurturing. With a great understanding of the eyfs along with ensuring children are happy and safe.
My Experience
With over 10 years of experience, working with children I will tell you a little bit about my career journey.
Upon leaving university with a level 5 in Early years and child development I went straight into supervising a local crèche. After this I had the pleasure of supervising a breakfast and after school club within a local children centre/nursery school.
I took a break from here to spend some time at home with my children and have since been involved in play schemes to encourage healthiness in children under 5 and looking after children within my home. I then went on to working in a children's centre where we provided universal sessions including messy play, supporting speech and language sessions, cooking classes and teenage Mum support.
My previous role before becoming a childminder was as a private nanny caring for 3 boys under the age of 5. I absolutely loved the personal connection I felt with the family and therefor decided that childminding would be just right for me and my family. I childminded until very recently and am now midway through my training as a midwife. I am happy to travel and do over night/weekend sits.
My Qualifications
Having attended University where I studied Early childhood I gained a level 5 NVQ in early years (0-9yrs) during my time spent here I completed many modules including child development, children and the law, health care, professional development and children and their play, to name a few. I also attended queensbury sixth form where I achieved three A-Levels. I also hold 10 GCSEs grades A-C.

I have since completed safe guarding and food hygiene courses, to name a few, and will continue my professional development throughout the year ensuring that I stay up to date with legislation and any changes.
My Availability
I am currently on maternity leave as a student midwife, therefor my availability is weekend and evenings. Please get in Touch If I can help

My children absolutely love going to jan’s House and I feel so happy leaving them there. Jana is one of the most kind and caring people I know. I’ve never had to use childcare before so I was really anxious about leaving them. Jana made the transition for us really easy and helped in any way she could. My children are always welcomed into her home and leave very happy. They have lots of fun and love playing with her children and the other children in her care. They have lots of things to tell me when they get home. They love going on days out and there favourite is the local park for a picnic and play. There is always lots to do at jan’s house, including creative and messy play and lots of outside physical activities. I could not recommend a better Childminder!

Jan’s house offers a home from home childminding experience one in which my children love.
Jana is one of the most down to earth, nicest, caring people you will ever meet. Nothing is too much to ask and your children will feel at home and comfortable immediately. Both daughters are wary of new people and new places but as soon as they arrived they felt so comfortable and always ask me when the next ‘Jana Day’ is.
Both my daughters are looked after by Jana and they love spending time at Jan’s house. They have such a variety in activities from visiting local wildlife, crafting and even days out. They love telling me what they have been up to and experienced, they most definitely sleep well after.... I couldn’t ask for more!

We travel about 12miles to bring our child to Jans house and will continue to do so until he has to go to school. Due to our child’s medical needs and low immunity it was a struggle to
Find someone or a childcare setting that we could feel relaxed with leaving our child. Due to his medical needs the nursery setting which is next door to our house and amazing wasn’t a great choice as he was forever getting poorly so needed to take lots of time off and one on one care. His appetite was really poor which also didn’t help his health. Since going to Jana house he has started eating well and trying lots of food with encouragement from Jana. He is excited to go to Jans house and loves the family environment. It really is like home
From home for him. He has confidently started using the potty and given up
His bottle which has been fully supported by Jana even taking a portable potty on days out for him.
The house is always clean and welcoming and the children are all so polite and happy when I collect my son. For the first time in over 2 years I am comfortable leaving my son as jans has made a conscious effort to understand his medical needs and has helped us as a family maintain his regular
Medication which has resulted in the longest time he has has out of hospital ever. This is huge for us, we would travel
Even further if we needed to as the care he gets makes it worth it.
The way he speaks now is so clear he is polite and confident. You only have to watch Jana and the children for a minute to see how much of a natural she is with all the children! Lots of pictures and updates throughout the day too :)

After a lot of researching and stressing about finding a decent, local childminder for my daughter when I went back to work, it was an absolute god-send when we found Jan's House.
Jana and her family are simply amazing and my little girl is always so happy when she is in her care. Not once has she cried or made a fuss when being dropped off in the mornings - she is always excited to see Jana and loves playing with her 3 beautiful children, as well as the other kids in her care.
Jana has been childminding for my almost 9-month old daughter for around 3 months now (2 days per week), and I couldn't be happier with the service she provides for my little one. The house is always clean and tidy and the food that Jana makes for the kids is always healthy and scrumptious!!
As well as taking the kids for fun days out, Jana has loads of toys and arranges activities for them to do at home and always makes sure they are happy, socialising, having fun and learning.
It was pretty tough for me to go back to work as my daughter was only 6 months old at the time, but Jana made it so easy for me and massively put my mind at rest. With regular pictures, videos and updates on how my daughter is doing, my days without my baby are much easier to get through. I can't thank Jana and her family enough for being so loving and caring towards my little girl and I would absolutely recommend Jan's House to everyone!
