About Me
Hi, I am a level 6 qualified childcare professional with over 16 years experience working with young children and their families.
I believe that my enthusiasm for little people is partly due to my "fun-loving", bubbly personality and my eagerness to promote learning through play. My studies (BA Honours) in Early Childhood Studies reinforced an appreciation I long held for play and deepened my understanding of play’s significance in young children's learning and healthy development. My course also gave me a strong basis that enables me to cater for children’s holistic development.
Being someone who believes in the importance of trusting and respectful relationships, I always aim to be fair and to listen actively. I maintain an attentive and sensitive attitude to the needs of children, their parents/carers as well as other people my profession brings me in contact with. I believe this approach played a big part in the trusting connection I managed to establish with children in my previous care and the positive relationships I built with their families.
I see my nanny role as manifold and I have extensive experience of the aspects this role entails. I am first and foremost a carer for the children, meeting their essential needs, including cooking nutritious meals, whilst keeping them safe at all times. I am a role model and also an educator, opening up new possibilities for exploration and creating activities that are engaging, that keep children motivated and eager to learn more. As much as I am a carer and an educator, I am also a friend, a true play-partner, who genuinely enjoys participating in play activities, whatever form play comes in. Keeping children happy, and helping them become confident learners is what I thrive to do.
Every family I worked for had slightly different expectations towards their children and taking this into consideration, we always managed to come to a mutual agreement on what our expectations were. Working as a team with the family has always been at the heart of what I do, ensuring continuity of expectations for the children, and a fertile ground for a long lasting employment relation.
My Experience
I have worked with a range of families, mainly in their private homes (and on their holidays) as a nanny/mother's help but also through the educational sector as a nursery nurse. I have the most experience with children aged 6month to 9 years with plenty of practise in caring for multiple children at once.
I have worked with children with physical as well as speech development difficulties and have mastered some good tricks in tackling and understanding challenging behaviour. I am very much on the side of positive discipline and I believe in the significance of positive relationships and strong secure attachments.
I am probably the most experienced in filling children's day with joy and happiness through meaningful fun activities & games whilst guiding them to learn more, realise their potential and have fun at the same time.
I am not sure whether I could qualify as a chef, but I can certainly cook interesting & healthy meals and I am very aware of the nutritional needs of young children and how it promotes healthy growth both physically and mentally. I have developed a few games through which even the most resisting children can find joy in eating. I always try to involve children in the shopping and cooking to further promote healthy choices and a positive attitude to mealtimes.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
- Nannying from £13.00 per hour (net)
As a starting salary I am happy to accept 13£an hour (after tax)
