About Us

Here at the University of Southampton Early Years we believe that a good start counts.

We understand that children need to feel a sense of security and belonging when they are away from their parents. We ensure that all children in our care feel happy, relaxed and safe. We encourage them to feel confident and to develop good relationships with the adults who care for them and also with the other children in their group. Every child here is treated as an individual.

The Early Years Centre is situated on the Highfield University Campus with access to all the facilities and grounds that the University has to offer.

We are located in a modern and interactive environment and employ a range of highly qualified and experienced staff from a variety of childcare and early education backgrounds. There are easy drop-off/collection parking spaces right next to our centre.

At the centre we provide a wide range of age appropriate materials and toys for indoor and outdoor play. Children are provided with a healthy lunch, lots of fresh air, exercise and play, all contributing to their physical, emotional and developmental needs. Our daily activities focus on fun, learning and nurture.

Upon joining, your child will have a designated keyworker who will be responsible for their individual care and assist with their learning and development. This keyworker will build a close partnership with you in order to provide the best possible care of your child.

We welcome applications from the general public and would love to have the opportunity to show you around the centre. These visits are by appointment - please call or email to book.
