We use Dedre as our babysitter for our newborn. She initially came a few evenings to give us some time to get chores done at home, and one evening she looked after him while we went out.
Dedre has a natural gift with children (and adults) and she handled our son with loving care.
You can always tell people from how your pets react to them. Our cat Harley is very skittish around strangers, but the first time Dedre walked into the house and sat down, he want straight up to her and rubbed up against her (imprinting her as his property of course). That's the sign of a good person.
