My Summary
About Me
Hello, I'm Hannah, I'm 36 years old and have 19 years of experience in childcare. I love children and try to make every day fun for them! I have been a nanny since 2017 and worked for some lovely families. I am currently looking after twins who I’ve been looking after for the past 3 years and will be really sad to say goodbye too when they go off to school. As a nanny I have had experience in looking after children from 0-6 years, including newborn twins. Before becoming a nanny I worked as a level 3 qualified member of staff at an OFSTED outstanding nursery. I do love the freedom that a nanny position gives me to take the little ones on exciting days to the park, etc, and I love being able to give them one to one attention. I am currently looking for another part-time position about two or three days a week or equivalent .
I am ideal for your family if you are looking for childcare on a part-time basis that will;
>Give your child one to one attention and you would like someone who will be like a member of the family when you are working:-),
>Give you someone with lots of experience in looking after very young children and who loves children and babies!
>Give you a nanny who who is loving, caring and sensitive to the needs of small children and babies.
I feel it's so important that children feel secure and loved and have a good bond with the person looking after them. They thrive on routine and stability which makes it so important that correct childcare decisions are made for your young ones. If you think I would be suited to your family or you are contemplating different childcare options please feel free to message me.
Kind regards:-)
My Experience
Professional employment history:-
I have 19 years professional experience in looking after babies and young children between the ages of 2 months and 6 years.
My positions as a nanny have included general care, (including feeding and taking care of small babies) play and crafts at home and going out on exciting outings and playgroups and music classes. I love being active and out in nature and and I strongly believe that being outside and seeing nature provides many opportunities for children to learn and develop skills and I reflect this in my practice. My nannying roles have also included doing some light house work, preparing healthy meals, being attentive to the needs of very small children and babies, helping with homework and going on different outings. Importantly, I make sure that all the children in my care are safe at all times, ensure hygiene routines are adhered to and keep the environment clean and tidy.
At the nursery where I previously worked, my role involved observing and planing activities for the children in order for them to develop in all areas outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage. I have a good all round knowledge of child development and did my best to help my key children develop to their full potential, whilst also having lots of fun! I particularly enjoyed doing art activities, messy play, cooking, music and movement plus reading stories with the children. I considered communication with staff and parents a vital role and I always strived to give individual feedback to each parent at the end of the day.
Additionally, I have also worked on a one to one basis with a child with special educational needs, which involved following an IEP, doing specific activities to help with his development, which I found rewarding. I have gained experience with looking after twins both at the nursery and in my current and previous nanny roles. I have also been on lots of different courses and workshops to progress my knowledge and skills in childcare and continue to keep up to date with training. I hold a valid first-aid and food hygiene certificate.
Work experience:-
Previous to my nursery position, whilst studying for my diploma I did work experience in a local primary school for 1 year, at a special needs school for 2 weeks and at another nursery for 1 year. Also whilst studying I had a short summer job at a Montessori nursery and a summer job as a nanny looking after a baby.

Diploma in childcare and education (level 3)
Current first aid certificate and food hygiene

Hannah is currently looking after our little 3 month old girl Elowen, but sadly we are having to say goodbye today as we are moving to Hampshire in a few days time. We couldn't have asked for a better nanny & it is such a shame that we are moving away from the area. Hannah joined us about 6 weeks ago when I suddenly had to return to work & to be honest it felt quite early to be doing so with such a small baby (despite just being in an office at the end of the garden!) but she quickly put any anxieties to rest when we introduced her to our little one. Her manner is calm & gentle, yet chatty, cuddly and playful. Despite it only being 6 weeks or so, they seemed to have formed a lovely bond. Elowen always stops feeding to give a big smile when she hears Hannah come through the door in the morning & she is so content in her company, having cuddles, singing songs & reading stories. Saying goodbye to your baby for a few hours is a lot easier when the baby is beaming:) Hannah has ensured that Elowen has the full amount of age-appropriate nap time throughout the day, heading out with the pram come rain or shine for fresh air and to help with the long lunch nap. She has been careful to ask if we have a preferred way of doing things, such as settling for sleep, or soothing teething pain - but to be honest as a new parents we have been happy to use her experience & together we are overcoming the 4-month sleep regression as Elowen is learning to self-settle (hurrah!) We have also appreciated her ability to be flexible, which has been so helpful with my changing work commitments & impending move. We'd highly recommend her to another family & we wish her all the best for finding her next position.
