About Me
I have a passion for working with children. I am fascinated by their hunger and desperation to learn the world we live in. Which at a young age can cause tantrums as they don’t have an understanding about emotions and have not learnt the skill to keep it under control. It’s about understanding and having the patience to understand each child individually is child is unique and what might work for one child doesn’t work for the other, it’s all age stage relevant. Children are amazing, I love to offer them a wide range of Opportunities to explore different environments, to help them progress with their next steps to achieve their goals to reach their maximum potential in the 7 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, through play.
I have alot of experience with kids I have worked in q nuresy for the age of 15 until the age of 17 I then went on to be a private nanny I worked for a family looking after twins for 5 months and then went on to a family looking after 3 children aged 2 months 3 and 4 I have worked with kids from the age of 2 months all the way up to the age of 14 I like to say I understand every age and understand there different needs
My Experience
I have worked in a nursery now for 3 years with kids from the age of 9months right up until 14 years old I have been baby sitting since the age of 15 and I have always been around children and a childminding setting from a young age.
My Qualifications
I have level 1 childcare
paediatric first aid level 3
I also have food handler certificate and I have a prevent duty certificate also.
And I have a DBS check

I am happy to work outside of these hours. The earliest I can work in the morning is 06.30am. The cost will reflect the unsociable hours.

I have a son with ASD and I was so happy when I came across Katie and spoke with her. We arranged an interview for the following day and she didn’t show up. I tried to call her and sent what’s app, she ignored them all. It was very disappointing especially when I had spent the morning preparing my son that she was coming.

Katie is simply made for childcare. She’s SO capable and lovely. Children love her, even really discerning children. She has been a godsend to our family. Always reliable and responsive, sends pictures, comes up with great ideas for activities and is simply a natural. You couldn’t find better. But I need her. So don’t take her! Worth her weight in gold

Katie has babysat our kids a number of times, during the day and in the evening. She has known our children for some years, and always makes sure they have plenty of fun during daytimes, and get to bed/stay in bed in the evenings. We feel our kids are very safe and happy with Katie. She is always on time, and keeps us informed if she has anything she feels we need to know. I would recommend her to any of my friends looking for a babysitter in Brighton/Hove. For a young woman, I think Katie is extremely responsible and reliable, but also full of fun and affection for our kids.

It was the first time that we used a babysitter for our 2 kids (2 and 4 years old) and I was really nervous not knowing how they would find the experience but as soon as they meet Katie they just felt completely at ease with her and started playing.
My son especially had a great bond with her and really trusted her.
My kids felt like they knew her for ages and can't wait to go back.
Happy kids and happy mum.
