My Summary
About Me
Hi I’m Annie, I now work with adults with special needs and disabilities but have always worked with children with SEN.
I am looking to help out with babysitting as I miss working with kids!
I’ve always enjoyed being outdoors and exploring nature, I am imaginative and adaptable to any age or ability. I’m pretty arty and crafty too! I will always support children in what they do or want to try, and I will always encourage children to try new things and gain independence.
I am well organised, reliable and confident with children.
Most of all I am loving and fun and would like to be a part of children’s development!
My Experience
I am currently working with adults and before that at a secondary sepcial needs school.
I previously looked after two primary aged children a few afternoons a week and whilst I was in London (2019-2020) I was looking after an 8month old baby a couple of afternoons a week which was lovely!
Before this I was working at a Steiner education school in London as an SEN teaching assistant. I worked 1:1 with a 5 year old boy who had social emotional and behavioural needs. I also helped children up to age 14 with maths and English, 1:1, group work and in classes as a TA.
Before I moved to London I travelled around France for three months with my twin sister and it was an amazing experience!
My dream job was working as an Activity Play specialist at The Children's Adventure Farm Trust and I had been there for 4 years since I graduated University with an Education and Disability degree.
We provided holidays for children who needed a break, such as kids with disadvantaged backgrounds, terminal illnesses, physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
I have looked after all ages of children with a mix of abilities, backgrounds and learning difficulties in a variety of educational and respite settings.
It would be great to work with kids again even if it is just a few hours here and there!
My Qualifications
I gained a degree in Education and Disability Studies at Sheffield Hallam University. I studied sport coaching at Trafford college before this which also provided me with being able to work with children with special educational needs. I have also completed training in First Aid, Rebound Therapy, Food Hygiene, Health and safety and a few others!
My Availability
I work shift patterns and 3 weeks in advance so let me know and I can see if I can help!
