About Me
Hello,
I’m a young woman who has worked with young children in various settings for the past 5 years. I was a teaching assistant in the youngest class of a drama school assisting 3-6 year olds for nearly 3 years. I also worked with the older children (ages 7-18) in the afternoons providing behavioural assistance but most of my experience is young children aged 0-6.
I have also cared for a baby girl from Newborn age. This was 9-2 Monday - Friday. I grew very close with her in this time and now she is about to go to school! I still see and care for her now from time to time in a non professional capacity as I care so much for her and her family.
I love taking strolls, doing arts and crafts, reading stories, playing games (I’m extremely creative and have many years experience of making the most creative games in a small space with relatively few props from around the house and being amused for hours with my little sister!) I love a picnic and a play in the park too and of course I love a cuddle!
I work full time Monday - Friday 9-5 so my free hours are unfortunately limited. But I loved working in childcare and miss it a lot so I would love to see if I can fit some in during my spare evening hours or weekends!
Therefore I am looking for evenings or weekend babysitting and can do the odd night if you wish to do a night away. Please do message even if you’re looking for random babysitting and not a repeat schedule. I’d love to hear from you.
My Experience
I worked at a drama academy which ran every Saturday. I was the assistant in the poppets classroom (3-6 year olds) and I absolutely loved it. At that age it was mainly about giving children confidence and teaching them how to be creative rather than learning hardcore drama stage skills (although we did manage to drop in the stage directions in the form of games and put on short performances!) I often put myself by the door in the morning as there was often a few children that struggled to leave mum or dad and I really felt for the parents having to leave their children upset and so I would try to make it as easy as possible for both the parent and child.
I’ve also had experience working in a playgroup working with younger children again and in a slightly less professional situation babysitting for my parents friends who have young children and I really enjoyed that too. My most recent childcare was looking after a newborn baby. This means I’ve also had experience of the general needs of a young baby. I’m probably looking to work with children that are anywhere from 0-6 (as this is my main experience) But I’m very happy to work with children of any age!
My Qualifications
I’m not a registered childminder but I have a full enhanced DBS check, and have worked with children for years. I’ve also had training and got certificates in an E-safety course and child protection course. And have recently taken part in a first aid training session. I can also provide a reference from my previous employer.
