Fantastic nanny

We found April through our existing/previous nanny who was taking maternity leave and April agreed to help us as maternity cover. April was with us from May until the end of this year. Our son Sebastian was 18 months old when April started and April also brought her son with her who is a lovely boy and got on really well with Seb.

April fit into our routine very easily and picked things up really quickly and Seb got on well with her and her son from the beginning. The process of bringing April in as maternity cover was a non-issue really and just wasn’t the hassle we had worried it might be. Once she starts in the morning April is completely responsible for Seb for the day until she finishes in the evening. She is responsible for all aspects of care for Seb from dressing him, feeding him, taking him out for activities, haircuts, appointments. She has also done some batch cooking for us and the washing of Seb’s clothes in the limited time whilst he is napping.

April has been an incredible nanny. She is very organised and is always looking for interesting things to do with the boys. April manages to balance fun activities with education (which is her passion) and Seb’s language and understanding of the world around him has come on leaps and bounds since she has been looking after him. He completely trusts her and seems very relaxed and happy when in her care. We have never had any separation anxiety issues from Seb whilst April has been looking after him.

April prefers taking the boys out to clubs, activities and visits and Seb has an absolutely amazing time. April is also really good at keeping us updated on what they are doing together and often sends photos and videos of what they have been up to and the progress and leaps that Seb has been making, which is wonderful to see. April helps us feel involved with what Seb has been up to.

April is very calm and kind with our son and always puts his needs first. She is very punctual and reliable. April also seems to have an endless amount of energy and she appears to be equally enthusiastic at the end of the day as she does at the start! We have a WhatsApp chat with her and she will always check with us if she isn’t sure of something but ultimately we completely trust her so it’s a very easy relationship.

We are so pleased that we have had an opportunity to have April and her son involved in our lives and we hope that continues, wherever she goes next.

I would recommend April wholeheartedly to anyone that is looking to hire her with no reservations.

Amazing nanny!

April was our nanny for 2.5 years to our (originally) 11 month and nearly 3 year old boys. She left because we could no longer give her the hours she wanted once the youngest started nursery.

Her role included but was not limited to:
- entertaining the children with physical activities in the garden, arts and crafts, imaginative play, educational games
- taking them to parks/ theme parks/ farms/ library/ shops/ soft play etc
- dressing them and cleaning their clothes
- keeping the play areas, kitchen and bedrooms tidy incl cleaning bed clothes
- school drop off and pick up
- preparing meals
- helping with reading and spelling homework
- arranging play dates
- taking them to clubs
- taking them to doctor/ dentist
- helping around the house (emptying and stacking the dishwasher, putting the weekly shop away, nipping to the dry cleaner or post office)

April has been a fantastic nanny and is hopefully now a lifelong friend of the family. She was very punctual and reliable and didn't have sick days even when she felt under the weather. She is kind, caring and very constant with the boys. I get comments from mums at the school gate about how wonderful she is with them and how there is a mutual love between them!

She is on the go all the time and is always looking for new activities or places to go. She gets very involved with their play and if they go to groups she doesn't sit chatting with other nannies, she plays with the children.

She gave the boys a variety of food and whilst cooking is probably not her favourite part of the job she followed recipes and introduced a couple of new meals that the boys love. She would bake cakes and biscuits to decorate. She kept the house tidy and regularly reorganised the playroom.

April kept me up to date on how the boys were getting on and would send lots of pictures. She even face timed granny and grandad when the boys had something to show but she couldn't get hold of me.

I would have no hesitation in recommending April as a nanny, any family would be very lucky to have her.


April was nanny to our then 1 and 3 year old boys for 2.5 years from June 2014. She left when our youngest started school and we could no longer give her the hours she wanted.

Previous Nanny

We employed April as our nanny from 6th March 2017 until 30 August 2019 when her contract ended because our little boy commenced pre-school and we no longer required full time nanny assistance.
Our little boy was 11 months when April started with us and I was returning to work after a period of maternity leave. She made this transition for me extremely smooth and I was able to go back to work confident that he was happy and safe and I was very grateful for this. We employed April as part of a nanny share and she was excellent at understanding all of our needs and quickly established a routine that worked for both families. April’s communication with the families as a group and independently were excellent and we received daily updates and photographs of their activities which was appreciated.

April is a fantastic nanny and we have felt incredibly lucky to have had her in our lives at this important time. She strikes the perfect balance between having fun with the children whilst also teaching them and pays close attention to their development. Our little boy has certainly benefited from her teaching skills and she always linked part of their day and experiences to fun, educational activities to assist learning. She has helped us through the development phases including him taking his first steps, potty training and independent feeding, teeth brushing and dressing.

April was very organised and energetic and made sure the children had plenty to do all week. She kept this varied and would mix taking them out to parks, farms, discovery centres, soft play centres, swimming and the library to entertaining them at home with arts and crafts, imaginative play and games. April would also recommend what groups and classes might be suitable for our son to support his development and would take him to range of organised classes such as art, playball and music classes. It was always a busy and fun week!

April was also responsible for the children’s cooking and would prepare healthy menus and the online shop in advance occasionally batch cooking so we had a well- stocked freezer. She would prepare their meals and kept the kitchen and playroom tidy. April would also do the laundry for our little boy and would ensure he had a clean bed changing it weekly.

April is very committed to her work and professional but was also exceptionally loving, kind and caring with our little boy and he absolutely adores and trusts her. He looked forward to seeing her every day and she is now greatly missed in our house and we always look forward to the catch ups. I would have no hesitation recommending April as a nanny to a new family, they would be lucky to have her as we were and she has a lot to bring to the role.

A real life Mary Poppins!

April came on holiday with us to a family wedding in Italy. She had an instant rapport with our 2 daughters, who were then aged 2 & 7 months. You really couldn’t ask for a better nanny or a nicer person. April had a brilliant understanding of our daughters’ needs & slotted straight into our family & it was like we’d known her for years - quite a feat when you’re on holiday with a family you’ve only met a couple of times before! April anticipated our daughters’ needs & went above and beyond with all aspects of their care.

I can’t recommend April highly enough & any family who works with her will be extremely lucky!

Fabulous nanny!

April came to help with my twins (who were nearly one at the time) and my older son around four years ago, working one day a week for approx. 2 years.
A kind and caring individual who is brilliant at her job. She would take the children out, arrange fun, educational games for them to play etc.
I have no hesitation in recommending April, the children absolutely adore her and still love seeing her even though she is no longer our nanny.
