Georgie is a fantastic childminder, her dedication to all the children in her care by providing a range of exciting activities to help ignite their passion for learning, is really wonderful to see.
Georgie is very attentive with our son Vincent and they have formed a great bond. Vincent is always chatting away about Georgie and what they get up to each day. It goes with out saying that Vincent has so much fun with Georgie, but I’ve particularly noticed how much he respects and trusts Georgie and she has helped him come on in leaps and bounds in all aspects of learning and development.

Georgie and her family are all really friendly and welcoming and the home from home setting makes for a relaxed and safe environment.
There are a variety of pets in the home, including nature. Just recently the children have watched the life cycle of butterflies and where able to release them all when the time was right. All of which helps Vincent to build confidence with animals/nature and helps him to learn all about them.
Georgie clocks up an impressive amount of time outdoors with all the children. There are the regular weekly local trips and then the more special day trips out. Vincent’s love of the outdoors has definitely grown since starting here.
Georgie regularly teams up with two other childminders for activities. I really like this particular aspect, as I think it offers opportunities for Vincent and all the children to be able to mix with a wider group of children and to form friendships with others they don’t see everyday.

Communication in all forms with Georgie is exceptional. Everyday while Vincent is in her care, we have regular updates in messages, voice notes, pictures and video’s. The picture/ video’s really do make us smile and the funny ones with Georgie’s commentary underneath are brilliant and do make us both laugh out loud on many an occasion.
The communication she uses with Vincent is brilliant, lots of patience and understanding of his character traits. If he has done something wrong, she interacts with him in a fair way so he can understand what’s happened and gives him a chance to say sorry and even help to fix the problem on occasion.

Georgie from the start has given clear written policies to cover every aspect of her childminding. This helped enormously for us as first time parents to understand what is expected from us and what we should expect from Georgie. Anytime updates are needed, again this is fully communicated and we are always invited to chat openly about any concerns we may have at any point, which is reassuring to have open lines of communication.
Any first aid issues that have arisen and Georgie is very quick to communicate what’s gone on with pictures and messages and updates throughout the day if needed. When we have requirements for prescriptions to be given like creams, Georgie has happily applied as required.

Lastly what I found particular useful for our family is the flexibility that Georgie can have Vincent on a Saturday, which has proven very useful on a hand full of occasion’s so far. I have found Georgie to be very accommodating and flexible when certain ad-hoc situations have arisen for us and this has worked both ways when Georgie has required a little flexibility from us here and there. Again it’s all down to good lines of communication we have with one another and as much as possible preplanning things so things aren’t left to the last minute. Although Georgie always does her best to help, even if some situations unfortunately have been last minute.

As first time parents and navigating our way through the joys of finding the right child care setting for Vincent and that suited our needs as a family. I can honestly say we have struck gold with Georgie and her family. It’s so lovely to see Vincent enjoy himself and feel at home with the whole family. It puts our minds at rest as parents to know Vincent is so well cared for.
