In November last year, I decided to pull my 1 year old son out of nursery as I decided a child minder would be much more suited for him. After lots of visits and interviews, Kath was the one who really stood out to me because of her friendly and warm welcome and just the general presence I felt when I met her at her lovely home. She clearly had a passion for looking after children and it just felt right to choose her to look after my son… call it a mother’s instinct. So my son started with Kath full time Monday - Friday and I can’t believe how quickly he bonded with her! My son isn’t the most sociable of babies so I thought we’d have a battle on our hands but he absolutely loves going to Kath’s now and he can’t wait to get through her door each morning! Kath is a wonderful, kind and loving child minder. She takes my son out every day for a walk on the school run morning and afternoon so I know he gets his fair share of fresh air! She takes him to play group at least twice a week and takes him on adventures in the woods! Kath also cooks him a healthy breakfast, dinner and tea every day and she completes a detailed log in his journal each day so I can see what he has been up to and what he has eaten. I know the food is good as most times he has double portions lol! My son’s development has also come on leaps and bounds since he started with Kath … as I am a full time working parent, I have limited time to teach my son the basics of walking, talking and feeding so Kath helps and does the hard work for me! He has grown so confident with his ability to stand up unaided and it won’t be long now til he is walking! Kath also sends me photos every week of the activities my son is taking part in which I love! I am so glad I chose Kath to care for my son, I trust her with all my heart and I know my son is going to grow up in a happy and safe environment as he goes ready for reception in a couple of years.
