Our youngest daughter was with Sophie for 3 years and our eldest daughter with her for 2 years and we can say without a doubt that they had the best possible care you could find. As a teacher with specialism in the Early Years, I found it especially hard to search for childcare. Sophie instantly put my mind at ease with her manner, knowledge and enthusiasm. Sophie puts the children in her setting at the heart of everything she does, recognising their individual needs and interests.
Sophie’s professionalism shines through in everything she does. She always has a smile on her face and is incredibly loving, patient and caring with the children. It is always obvious how much she loves her work and how much pride she takes in it. She is incredibly hard-working and committed to ensuring each child has the best possible start to life. She is unflappable in difficult or unexpected situations and is always incredibly supportive and calm with medical issues.
Sophie’s communication is impeccable. Every day she wrote in great detail about the events of the day including outings, activities and notable learning observations. We always knew exactly what she ate, how long she slept and when her nappies were changed. Plenty of photos were always shared with us as part of the daily entries to our daughter's book, but also in our parent WhatsApp group. Sophie was always approachable and we felt like we could talk to her about anything, often in face-to-face conversation at drop-off or pick-up.
Our daughter always understood exactly what was going to happen throughout the day at Sophie’s setting, due to the regular routines in place. She always had healthy meals, a good nap, opportunities for exercise and plenty of time to socialise with the other children in Sophie’s setting. She also often has enriching experiences with childminders who regularly collaborate with Sophie and their children, who Hannah has also formed close bonds with.
Sophie plans an amazing variety of carefully thought-out experiences for the children, often with themes such as cultural celebrations and holidays. From baking to playgroups, fruit-picking to soft-play; the experiences that our daughters have had in Sophie’s care have been brilliant.
Sophie is the most amazing childminder that we could ever hope for and goes above and beyond in everything she does. She has made our daughter (and us!) feel like a part of her family. We feel incredibly lucky that Sophie played such an integral role in raising our children and will forever be grateful for everything she has done for our family.
