About Me
I am an outgoing and happy person but am also very hard working and conscientious. I have developed very good inter-personal skills through my work as a Nursery School teacher dealing with my colleagues, management and the parents of the children in my care. I am passionate about working with children and left college early to pursue my career through practical experience. Whilst working at Long Close School I undertook a university degree course on a day-release basis and have just received a Foundation Degree in Early Years. I am now undertaking a BA in Children’s Learning & Development as part of a long-term plan to gain my teaching qualifications.
My Experience
I started working in a School in April 2012 as an Early Years assistant. In February 2015 I was promoted to Room Leader for a class of 3 year olds.
As Room Leader I am responsible for a class of 16 children. Major elements of my role include the day-to-day running of the room and tracking the development of all the children in the class using the ‘Development Matters’ framework. I have two early years assistants working with me, one of which is an apprentice who I do a lot of training with and I also mentor his progression through his level 3 qualification. I also run training sessions for the staff based upon the knowledge gained through my degree classes.
Since working at the School I have developed relationships with many of the children and parents in the School. This has led to me being in great demand for carrying out Nannying jobs throughout the School holidays.
I have worked for many different families and due to the relationships developed with these have become regular roles throughout the holidays and weekends. I also carry out ad-hoc jobs for the both families at the school and for some of the families which my mother has looked after over the years.
