Sarah helped us out with evening child care so my wife and I could have our first "night out" since our youngest was born. With both toddlers being born during the pandemic, they have never had a "babysitter put-down" with a stranger before, so we weren't sure how it was going to go (and tbh were expecting a meltdown before getting out the door...).
However, all worries were gone from the very first meeting as we were put at ease by Sarah's professionalism and obvious knowledgeability/ intuition towards interacting with small children -- they both warmed up to her faster than I have ever seen from them, and within a few minutes our oldest (who normally has stranger anxiety) was running all over the house to show her his favorite toys. The kids had a fantastic time, all instructions were followed, and just an all around great experience.
Thanks!
Sarah is a breath of fresh air when it comes to childcare options. We have 3 young children and she has the ability to handle them with no issues whatsoever, even the youngest going right through his terrible 2s. Patient, creative and caring, with unlimited energy, it seems. All of us are so happy to see Sarah every time she is around.
Sarah was our family nanny since July 2020. We have a very active 4yr old boy Nila who requires exceptional patience and advanced childcare skills to manage his fiery character. Sarah’s duties included taking care of Nila for an afternoon per week and providing occasional support with household duties.
I have been primarily impressed with Sarah’s maturity and ability to control the situation (even during meltdowns) which ensured that Nila felt safe, but also understood the authority of adults. We have seen positive changes in Nila’s behaviour from the first few sessions. Sarah has also paid a lot of attention to ensure Nila is developing his language and key coordination skills.
We found common language since the first day she met Nila and we had full trust in her ability to not only take care of him, but also develop the critical life skills required for his age. Sarah is really easy going, pleasant to be around and most importantly, she would only give advice when we asked her for one. And her advice is always very practical, contemplated and easy to apply.
