We looked around quite a few Nurseries to find the best one and we instantly knew on meeting Corrine and the team that Yumbo was going to be the best settings for our Daughter, Maisie. Maisie loves going to Nursery and is now more confident as a result of the excellent care that has taken place at her time there. I would thoroughly recommend that you send your children to Yumbo. As parents, we are incredibly grateful to the team, espically Shannon who has grown a strong bond with our daughter and given her valuable life skills she can use in her next setting. Thank you Team Yumbo!

My son has attended Yumbo Daycare for 2 years now; we are about to have our second child and have already reserved his space.
Yumbo provide a safe and positive environment that allows our son to express himself and develop and his own pace.
With experience based learning our son is able to have real world experiences with a wonderful team of childcare providers who really care about him.
If you are looking for a nursery I would thoroughly recommend visiting Yumbo.

Yumbo was such a great start for my boy Carter! They was so understanding that we was nervous our boy was leaving us and reassured us he’d be fine, they was right even though my boy is in reception now he still misses Yumbo! Thanks ladies for making our boy feel welcomed and apart of the Yumbo family we love and miss you all loads

My son attended Yumbo from September 2022-July 2024 and he absolutely loved every minute of it. The setting is in the grounds of a church and well away from the road and any passers by. Yumbo have a well structured daily routine which includes educational activities, outdoor play and things to help prepare children for the next step to big school. The staff are vastly experienced in childcare, flexible, approachable, happy, friendly, helpful and become part of your extended family. They provide regular communication regarding the progress your child is making and also work in partnership with parents so their learning journey goes from home to nursery and back again seamlessly. I chose Yumbo based on them providing a more outdoors type of learning as well as classroom based and this included ample trips out to places like Colchester Zoo, walks to the local library, museum and shops, Tiptree Jam Factory, Forest School, Maldon Petting Zoo, Colchester Castle, Boydells Farm and lots of others. This provides a unique and invaluable opportunity for learning in a different environment as well as developing your child’s social skills and confidence; something a lot of childcare providers do not give.
My son is now thriving in his Reception class at school and I have Yumbo to thank for this. His basic educational knowledge far exceeds that of some of his peers and by choosing Yumbo, I guarantee you are giving your child the best start possible!

Yumbo Daycare is a hidden gem tucked away from the busy road, providing a wonderful and secure location for children. The staff is fantastic, organizing frequent outings and offering a variety of activities such as phonics, Jo Jingles, and Mini Mindfulness. My child loved his time there.

Best staff ever! They are flexible, friendly, experienced and carring. They are very crestive and organise lots of intetesting activities. My son loves go with them on walks, trips to the farm, softplays etc. Children spend lots of time outdoor. My son has grown his confidence and develops his communication skills. I can highly recommend Yumbo Daycare

On first impressions you will be taken back on Yumbo’s location, as I’m sure everyone was but once you get past that you will see it really is a diamond in the rough. Also with its set
back location it really is nice to know that there will be no strange passers by while your little ones are there.
I can’t say enough brilliant and amazing things about Yumbo and the staff. They genuinely care about your child and always have their best interests at heart. With such small and personal settings, I can almost guarantee your child will get far more attention and support at Yumbo than any other nursery you will find, which my wife and myself will agree that it’s advanced our daughter in every area of her short life and has far exceeded our expectations.
Their frequent trips out away from the nursery to Colchester Zoo, Boydells Farm, Southweald Country Park, Braintree Museum or even just a lovely nature walk down the Flitch really are a highlight for my daughter and really gets her excited to go back.
In the time my daughter has been at Yumbo we have not had one single complaint or worry, everything is perfect and I know exactly where our second child will be heading.
You really can’t go wrong with this nursery, ABSOLUTELY 5 STAR!!!!!!!!

My daughter loves this nursery,so do I. Great team and management, always flexible, always happy to help. My daughter was non english speaking child when she started nursery,the team done everything to help her with english language. I will not count how many trips she is had from the nursery including colchester zoo, stick man trail etc. She can not wait to start her forest school. She loves phonics lessons and jo jingles weekly visits. Children spend lots of time outside which she loves. There is no better place to start your child journey then yumbo.

My little boy has been at Yumbo's for 6 months, since he turned 2. He has really grown in confidence since starting and loves all the Yumbo ladies. They're all so kind, thoughtful and caring and I really feel like they genuinely enjoy looking after my son. He has been on loads of trips including the zoo, walks to the park, Tiptree Jam Factory and more, and they send lots of pictures of him doing all sorts of activities in the nursery. They also spend a lot of time in the garden. They celebrate a huge range of holidays with fun and imaginative activities and I've received some lovely homemade gifts. They've also been helping him to work towards his milestones and have been honest about what he needs more support with at home. So they might not have a big shiny building, brand new toys or gourmet catering but children don't need that - they need care, support and fun - which this nursery has oodles of! And it's great value for money too!

We moved back from London and I needed to find a nursery for my little girl, I come across Yumbo and my little girl joined in from the start! She has progressed so quick, all thanks to the caring, understanding and reassuring staff. I'm so pleased I found these guys. My little girl is definitely very happy there too! ☺️

From our first play and stay session where I had to carry my son out over my shoulder, My boy loves being here every session he walks in and dose not look back. it’s a small Nursary with a big heart all the Teachers are fantastic and have done an amazing job over the Pandemic keeping the place COVID-19 Secure and keeping our little ones safe. If your looking for a comfortable environment for your little ones to grow and learn through play and encouragement this really is the place.

Great facilities, lovely location and dedicated staff. Both my children had a wonderful time at Yumbo, learning, having fun and being outdoors. I was particularly pleased with how the team looked after my kids. They developed a lot through play and activities at nursery.

My Son has been going to Yumbo since 2019! He absolutely loves it there, they are always finding different activities to keep the children’s brains stimulated and they are a very outgoing nursery and go out on lots of trips that my son loves! Would highly recommend Yumbo!

I went from having a child who would be hysterical when I dropped her off at nursery to her absolutely loving nursery. This is thanks to the kind and caring nature of the educators at Yumbo. My daughter was well cared for here and really enjoyed it. The baking and arts and crafts were so creative. I love their holistic ethos and that the children play outdoors so much! Yumbo takes the time to chat to every parent at the end of the school day to fill them in on all of the days antics. We had a really great experience and Yumbo has set the bar exceptionally high!

Our little girl joined Yumbo just over a year ago when I made the decision to return to work, and I couldn't be more grateful for everything the staff have done to help support us and the care they have provided. All the staff are so easy to talk to and our little girl absolutely loves attending yumbo. She has grown and developed into such a clever, confident little girl and loves interaction with other children. She has made some Lovely friends and I am so glad we choose Yumbo.

My daughter has been with Yumbo since she was 10.5 months, she's now 3.4 years old and absolutely loves going. The team are dedicated to helping the children learn and discover something new every day. They are fantastic, lovely, lovely people. I was nervous when I started looking for childcare for my daughter as i was a first time mum and Yumbo was the place I chose, I made the best choice :) They go on outings all the time, the zoo, soft play centres, forests, the park and reservoirs (the list is endless) the team are fully trained in what they do so when I drop my daughter off, I know she is in the most capable hands which is reassuring. I have told everyone I can think of about Yumbo so thought I'd spread the word some more :) please go and see the amazing work they do and know your child will be looked after by responsible and fun people :)

My son has been at Yumbo for 2 years. He started when he was 10 months old. My daughter also attended the nursery for 3 years she is now at school but still talks about her nursery and all the fun things she did, she gets very excited when she goes back during the holidays. Yumbo is a small caring and nurturing nursery delivering quality care. The team are very experienced and work with the parents. We get a diary of the childrens daily activities which is wonderful and I can then have a chat with my son about all the adventures he has been up to. Both my children love the outdoors and I think alot of that is down to the time they have spent a yumbo going to the forests (forest school), park, beach (coastal school)etc and exploring all the outdoors. They do some amazing craft and activities. Yumbo team are also very supportive with working with the parents to meet milestones. For example toilet training. The small and one to one care helps enormously with this.

My daughter has been attending since November 2016 and prior to that we tried a different setting where my daughter just wouldn't settle.
I find yumbo's staff to be very caring and extremely passionate about what they do which is why my daughter settled so well. They build bonds and take time to do so, which is so important with such little minds.
Previous experience with other settings is that most just do a job and go home. With yumbo's it's a different type of setting where they are 100% more interactive, more interested in what the children want, more caring and mainly more interested in what the children need on a daily basis.
I wouldn't pick any other type of child care. My daughter will stay here until school and I am so happy that she is in good hands.

My daughter has been attending Yumbo since November 2016 for settling in and started 2 days per week from January when she was 1 year old and I went back to work. Corrine, Amanda and the team have been brilliant at helping my daughter to become confident and made every effort to help settle her (as she was never away from myself or partner before). My daughter loves it there and isn't even bothered when I drop her off in the mornings! As a first time mum, the team have helped my return to work less stressful and I don't ever have to worry about my daughter as I know how much she loves the staff. She does a lot of craft and they go to the public gardens and library. I love her art work and know being at Yumbo is benefiting her learning! The team work hard all year round and are brilliant!

I am very happy with Yumbo Nursery. Very helpful and professional staff. They help a lot my son to go thru his first days in nursery. Kids have plenty of activities like trips to the public garden, forest, doing cakes and some presents for parents. They never get bored. My son love Yumbo.

My 3 year old son started here January this year as I took him out of his old nursery due to the amount of injuries he had at his old nursery, and I couldn't send him there as they lied about what happened, Corrine was absolutely fantastic and as soon as I went there to look I was very happy to say the least any son took to it straight away, he's so good he didn't even need a settling in period and has excelled in everything since he's been in there care, I have even recommended yumbos to different people I'm meeting, on his first day there he went to forest school and loved it and made a bird seed ball, everyday there out doing different things, they know exactly what there doing and is more structured than his last nursery, he's come home with fun work which is homework so I have things to do with him at home, he's counting better , knows the alphabet better singing more songs what's to do more craft things, they also encourage and celebrate other cultures holidays, this Chinese New Year they ate noodles, I had a beautiful candle in a glass which he decorated for Valentine's Day, the nursery is outstanding , I can't wait to see what else they have planned for the future, and I also love the fact that I can log on to baby days and see what he's done each day and track his progress.

My 14 month old daughter has been attending Yumbo Daycare since Oct 2015, it was a difficult transition for me returning to work but this was made very easy by the staff at Yumbo. I spent months looking for somewhere that met my needs. My daughter has settled into the setting extremley well & loves the staff there. They do lots of outdoor activities, arts & crafts, attend regular playgroups-all of which she loves. I am updated daily on her development with electronic diaries. I cannot recommend this setting enough.

My 13 month old has been attending this nursery since October '15. His bond with the ladies who work here is lovely to see. Working in a school I have high expectations of the care my child receives and i am happy to say that I feel 100% comfortable leaving my son at Yumbo.
The children are regularly taken out on trips to petting centers, crèches, parks etc. There are always activities within the setting and my son is always coming home with drawings, models and craft he has made.
The EYFS is followed which is reflected in my sons progress.
I would recommend rhis setting to anyone.

My son started at Yumbo nursery four months ago and has settled in really well. They go out daily for walks to the park and day trips out, they went to a local garden centre before Christmas to see Santa Claus. I am very happy with the care that my son is receiving and the wonderful staff that work at Yumbo.

My son has been attending Yumbo for almost 2 years and I will stay until he goes to school. The care he receives is excellent and he's always telling me about his adventures when they go out and all the things he's learnt whilst there. I started looking for a childcare in November 2012 as I was going to come back to work in February 2013. Corrine was recommended to me by a friend. Our first meeting was a beginning of an amazing adventure for our son.
When we decided that we want Corrine and her assistants to look after Wiesiek, she helped us to set a daily routine to help him settle in more easily (meals and nap time).
When have I realised that I made the right decision? First week back to work and absolutely no worries about my son as I knew he is in the best hands.
Corrine and her assistants are very friendly and professional. They have helped us during early stages and always shared their knowledge and experience. We got all the support in tough times like "terrible two's" and potty training.
Wiesiek is now 3 years and 3 months old and loves going to Corrine's place. The children frequently visit various playgroups, farms, zoos, parks, museums etc. They have lots of parties throughout the year (Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Chineese New Year) and participate in local events, e.g. Tour de France 2014, Royal Family visiting Chelmsford etc.
We would highly recommend Corrine and her wonderful team to anyone as she was recommended to us 2,5 year ago.

I have 2 children Liam and Ella who, from 3 months old until they started school were cared for by Yumbo Childcare whilst I went to back to work.
Leaving your child for the first time is extremely daunting but Corrine understands this and supports both you and your child settle into a new routine. Before you know it your child is like part of the family!
My children were very happy to be left in the setting and this made a huge difference to me being able to go to work without worrying about them.
Corrine accommodated their routines and we worked together on any issues in relation to their development.
My children learned about different cultures and celebrations which they wouldn't have experienced at home. The preparation for school from both an educational and social perspective is invaluable!
I am so grateful to this website that allowed me to find Yumbo Childcare - my children have some wonderful memories and friendships thanks to them!

My son has been going to yumbo since February (he turned 3 in May), I was so nervous at first but he settled in perfect and he absoloutley loves it there! They go out every day and parents are given a diary and kept up to date of what their child/ren have been up to which is really nice to read. The staff are brilliant and have helped my son come a long way in the space of 4 months, he now uses the toilet , his bottle is in the bin (had major issues for a long time getting rid of it!) His speech is coming along really well too. I'm so happy I chose yumbo for his childcare and he will continue going there until school. I also have another child on the way who will no doubt go to yumbo in the future too. Thanks Corrine and all staff for all you do xxxx

Corrine looked after my daughter after school when she started at the local primary school aged 4 until the age of 10. Corrine helped with my daughters speech and her confidence grew. She made lots of friends and loved the craft and baking activities Corrine did with the children. My daughter loved her time with Corrine who also had great assistants working along side her aswell. Corrine is a wonderful caring patient person who loves her job and understands the childrens needs. I am so happy I found her as I could go to work and know that my daughter was in safe hands. Thank you so very much.

I have been taking my daughter to Yumbo childcare for nearly 2 years now, and am quietly upset that she has to leave to start school in September!!
Corrine and all the staff have been so very helpful towards me, being a single parent.
My daughter has loved her time at Yumbo, and has made many friends, including those that she meets on their many trips out. They take the children to places that sometimes I've not even heard of, making me a tiny bit jealous that she has a better social life than me!!
I would highly recommend corrine and her team to anyone looking for childcare. X

Corrine and the team have been looking after my little girl (now 20 months) since last September 2014 for two days a week. Willow really enjoys going to the setting and joining in with all the fun activities. I was initially really worried about returning to work and finding someone to look after Willow, but Corrine immediately put me at ease and made everything straight forward. We had a couple of meetings, a home visit and a visit to the setting before she started. Willow has a home diary which we both update, so I can see what she's been doing each day she goes.
The children do loads of different fun activities and go on visits to interesting places, like visits to a jam factory, tropical wings, the woods etc. We joke that Willow has a better social life than us!
Willow has made taken part in lots of craft activities and often comes home with something lovely to decorate the front of our fridge. She has made friends around her own age and generally has thrived in the setting which is wonderful to see. The children celebrate and learn about different events such as Chinese New Year, St Patricks Day and Halloween.
I am 100% confident that Willow is getting the best care around and have no hesitation in recommending Yumbo to anyone looking for quality child care.

Braintree is very lucky to have such an experienced and caring team of childcare providers arriving to offer outstanding childcare in the area from September 2015.
I began to search for childminders in Essex at the end of 2013 when my family and I were preparing to relocate to Essex from Leicestershire. I used this site to search for childminders near to the house that we were purchasing and Yumbo Childcare was on the list of nearby possibilities. My daughter was 18 months old and had been attending a childminding setting for six months in Leicestershire and I was keen for her to continue to attend this type of setting. I contacted Corrine and arranged to meet with her and took my daughter along with me for the visit. My daughter made herself at home during this short visit to Corrine's home and it was clear from just being in the setting that Corrine and her team offer a fantastic, well-planned variety of activities for the children in their care. We signed our daughter up without hesitation and she began attending the setting at the end of January 2014. She experienced so much since joining the setting as the team plan a variety of home-based activities alongside a multitude of trips to various educational venues in and around Essex - farms, zoos, museums, local play groups, local leisure centres, parks, woods, jam factory, strawberry picking and even waved her flag at the queen when she made a visit to Chelmsford! I can honestly say that my daughter has a better knowledge of what Essex has to offer than both me and my husband put together!
Corrine and her team keep a journal which records exactly what activities the group have been doing and this journal has lots of photos which show my daughter having a fantastic time and interacting well with her peers. Corrine is so well travelled and ensures that the different cultures of the children in her care are respected and that different religious festivals are covered as part of the planned activities that the group partake in. She has food tasting sessions to give the group new culinary experiences and works hard to broaden the childrens' knowledge about different parts of the world.
Even though this setting is new to Braintree (due to open in September 2015), I cannot recommend this team highly enough. I felt blessed that I'd used this site to look up local childminders and was fortunate enough to have found Yumbo Childcare which was just five minutes away from our new home.
An excellent team providing an outstanding service - my daughter will always remember her time at Yumbo Childcare. I wish Corrine and her team the best of luck in their new venture and move to Braintree - although they won't need luck as their experience and dedication to providing outstanding childcare will no doubt bring them every success.
