Our little girl had a wonderful time with Lisa. She started when she was only 11 months and settled in very quickly and was extremely happy there! We loved Lisa’s home as it was a home-away-from-home feel, with a beautiful garden and lots of space for the kids to play. I liked the set up as Lisa had 4 kids and in the morning she would take the kids out to meet up with other childminders, then back home for lunch. Our daughter was really happy and loved being with Lisa. If we have another one, we hope to come back again!!
Lisa has been a brilliant force in my children’s early lives. We love her, her family and her home.
It’s the perfect setting for little ones. Warm, inviting, with plenty of space and toys.
She works so hard to ensure they get to see the world daily too, rather than being cooped up in a nursery room, taking them to playgroups and the park, meeting with other children their age.
I highly recommend. And would snap up a place if I was brave/ mad enough to have a 4th.
Lisa looked after my son from 1 until he went to school nursery aged 3 and 4 months. Lisa is a very experienced, thoughtful and reliable
childminder, my son has flourished in her care. Lisa really knows and understands my son and has made sure he is doing things that he loves, that he has been stretched, that his triumphs are celebrated and he has been supported to form deep friendships with other children in the setting. The environment is beautiful, food homemade and healthy and activities varied, imaginate and fun. I'm so grateful that we found Lisa and that my son had such a brilliant early years experience.
Lisa is incredible! From the first day our daughter Rose was with her we never looked back. Not only is she wonderful with the babies/children, she is also a great support to the parents. I often asked her advice on things and with such a great wealth of experience she had great insight into basically everything! She has been doing childminding for so long that she has seen everything when it comes to babies/children.
Her home is the perfect setting for children; with a designated play area in the house with lots of toys and a really large garden for the children to run around, again with plenty of toys. It's a children's dream!
My daughter Rose started with Lisa when she was 11 months and so was in her care for nearly 2 years. Rose absolutely loved it and always said she loves Lisa (still does!) We have moved to Kent which is why we no longer are with Lisa and it was honestly one of the hardest things about the move; to stop Rose being in her care.
Lisa is extremely organised and provides updates throughout the day with pictures which is lovely. As well as this, she explains what they do in the day and what her actions will be in terms of the children's development. I had no idea there were 7 areas of development until Lisa shared this with me!
Lisa is very on top of keeping her home clean. Particularly this year with COVID-19 which has obviously required extra care in this area and takes a lot of time and energy to do so - it is something that I hugely appreciated.
In terms of food, I was always so impressed with what Lisa produced for the children. Always a nutritious meal with fruit and vegetables, as well as snacks mid morning and mid afternoon. At the end of the day, she would always let me know how much Rose ate which was always good to know and to be kept informed.
Overall, both me and my husband were utterly over the moon with Lisa as our daughter's childminder and would recommend her to anyone. She goes above and beyond for the children (and parents) and creates such a happy environment. She's a real gem. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Lisa for being the best!
How lucky we are to have found Lisa. She is kind, caring, brilliant with children, thoughtful, funny and very down-to-earth.
Lisa looked after our son from when he was 11 months to 2 years. He thrived in her care, and I watched as she cared for him as one of her own. She understands the minds of children so well, and really is tuned-in to their worlds and needs. In the summer her spacious (and beautiful!) garden is open to the children and I would often be sent pictures of my son running in bubbles, or playing in sand, or sat at a teddy bear's picnic. In the winter, they snuggle in her cosy house playing with endless toys. (If they're really lucky, they get to play in Lisa'a House Disco, with flashing lights and music!).
Lisa's days have a basic structure to them and the kids always get to go outside to a playgroup in the morning before heading back home for a home-cooked meal then a nap. The afternoons vary with toys, play, walks, quiet-time or garden-time. I was sent constant updates and always felt I could reach out to Lisa with questions. She is thoughtful and flexible and as a working mum she was a godsend and aways tried to make things as easy as possible.
My son adored being with Lisa, and still (a year after leaving) asks to go round to her house. She and I have become close friends - not something I would expect from a childminder - and I fully expect for Lisa to be in my little boy's life for a very long time.
I found the search for the right childcare setting for my daughter really hard. I was overwhelmed by choice and often distracted by things that I now realise are totally unimportant to me.
As soon as I walked into Lisa’s home, had a cup of tea, chat and saw a little boy getting a cuddle because he was upset, I knew her home was the right place for Sylvie.
She was 16months at the time. I wanted a place that felt warm, and somewhere she’d be
nurtured as though she was with family. And Lisa’s setting provided just that.
Sylvie was with Lisa until she was 3. We still see the family regularly. And I credit them for helping Sylvie become the lovely (most of the time!) little girl she is today.
Additionally I love the big spacious garden (that they spend all summer in, making dens, playing on trikes and drawing in chalk etc)
I love the fact that they get out and about to playgroups (rather than being stuck in the same room with the same toys day in day out.)
I love how flexible and accommodating Lisa is (to my slightly chaotic approach to life.)
And I love that I know I could always call and trust her with my girls if ever im in need. (I fully intend to send my second born to her).
Needless to say I would highly recommend Lisa if all the above is important to you.
Lisa has had our son from age 2 - 3.5. He is shortly leaving her for pre-school. We've had lots of photos every day showing that he is stimulated, happy and comfortable in her setting, which is a wonderful home from home full of animals, toys and in the holidays, her own older children. Lisa's garden is lovely and the children have access to all sorts of activities in and out of the home.
Our son has some medical and developmental issues; Lisa was comfortable with these right from the start, showing how professional and capable she is. It was a relief to find someone like her when we didn't feel confident leaving Ray with just anybody. She has been really attentive to Ray's needs and has helped him overcome some of his fears. She's been really insightful and caring during transition periods and he settled well with her. All in all Lisa does a great job and we recommend her to the max. We are truly sad to move on but we intend to keep using Lisa for help between terms where possible.
Lisa looked after my first daughter from the age of one until she was four and she now looks after my (nearly) two year old. Both of my girls love going to Lisa's and I know that they will be well looked after and safe. Even though Lisa doesn't look after my eldest anymore, she still loves going to pick up her sister and see Lisa's and her family again. She is great friends with Lisa's daughter and often goes round to play in the holidays.
Lisa is very experienced and has understood both of my children's emotions really well. My eldest, was very clingy and had a bad nursery experience before going to Lisa. Lisa was kind and gave her lots of attention when she needed it.
Lisa makes sure that the children she is looking after get to go out to playgroups or the park and she cooks home cooked and healthy meals for them during the day. She has lots of toys (and a few pets!) that my daughter loves!
I especially like that I get lots of photos throughout the day so I can see what kind of a day my daughter is having and that she is happy. (She often used to send a photo to show me that my youngest had settled and was happy if she had had a tearful drop off, so she knows how us mums feel!)
I've known Lisa now for five years and we would definitely recommend her as a childminder!
Lisa has looked after our daughter for over two years. She first started when she was 11 months old and settled in quickly to Lisa's warm family environment. The time has come for her now to move onto preschool but we will be incredibly sad to leave Lisa as she has been fantastic. Our daughter has been very happy and has loved her time there. We will miss her hugely but I'm sure we will keep in touch. Lisa is kind, patient and attentive to the children. They go to playgroups everyday and are always out and about. Lisa is incredibly safety conscious and indeed we have had no concerns at all about entrusting our daughter to her care. She is flexible and would often pick our daughter up in the mornings and drop her off at the end of the day if needed. We would wholeheartedly recommend her.
Lisa has taken care of our son since he was 11 months old, he’s now 3 and 3 months so the time has come for him to move on to Pre School. We feel sad to be saying goodbye to Lisa after all this time but we feel blessed to have found her in the first place. It made going back to work so much easier as I knew he was in a happy, carefree, warm and stable environment.
Lisa's house was/is definitely a home from home and I think my son even regarded her as a second mum! She has just the right balance of caring and nurturing while creating valuable boundaries and discipline too helping my son grow and prepare for preschool. She always takes the children out to playgroups so they socialize with other children as well as have having a huge amount of toys for home entertainment too. The summer time is especially lovely as she has a great safe and child friendly garden with a playhouse and a conservatory full of toys too. Sometimes when it was home time my son just wouldn’t want to leave, always a good sign!
Everyday she would send me photos and sometimes videos of what they were up to, its so nice to see them having fun while you are a work. You also get a detailed diary outlining the days activities and what they ate at meal times (always includes a healthy home cooked meal) etc.
Lisa has two teenage children who are also great with the kids, I really think my son will miss all the family but I am certain we will keep in touch and visit.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lisa to anyone looking for a child-minder, with over 28 years experience she’s been there seen it all when it comes to childcare. Nothing phases her and she’s extremely thorough, patient, fair, enthusiastic, accommodating to your needs and a genuinely nice person, someone you can trust and feel safe and reassured to leave your child with.
