Kim has been so informative and professional from the very start; her childcare qualifications (plus First Aid, Food Safety etc) gave us the reassurance we needed in changing our family's childcare arrangements and withdrawing them from everything that was familiar to them. After having some issues with our original nursery, we were hesitant to make the switch but it turned out to be the best decision we could have made for our family. We thought this would be so much harder than it actually was - instead our children have been thriving. They've settled in so well; settling sessions worked alongside our previous nursery commitments so we didn’t lose out on childcare either way, it was on our terms so that we felt comfortable and it suited the kids routines.
She has listened to our guidance, responded to our children as we would, respected their needs and hasn’t tried to conform them to adult routines. The setting itself has a lot of space for the kids. A large garden with plenty of things outdoors to keep the children busy. Inside the living area, conservatory and dining areas have an amazing selection of toys, role play/dress up, books and crafts. She does baking with them. There's toddler furniture, a tent and she is so creative in adapting her environment for the kids. There is so much to do and they could never get bored.
Pro’s for parents: Fees are fair with no hidden costs; TFC/funded hours accepted. All food is included for the kids - breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The menu is varied and can be tweaked for the individual child if needed; but it has good variety and is home-cooked. The Nursery cat Tommy is very friendly and super cute. Parking right outside the door; great for us as it’s safe if you have more than one child when you’re doing dropoff on your own! Daily app updates and photos – we never have to chase to see what the kids are up to. No charges/financial penalty if you go on holiday as long as you give 2 weeks notice – finally someone who understands families!
We honestly wish we had found Kimmy’s earlier. She is a calm and patient person, very approachable and understanding. There is a level of communication and trust that we didn't have our previous childcare setting and we feel our children are in the best place they could be.
