About Us
Ghyll Royd Pre-School is located on the outskirts of Ilkley within a beautifully renovated manor house and provides a stimulating environment to learn and play for children aged two to four years.
The Pre-School forms part of our early years unit and the children have access to two well resourced classrooms, two outdoor play areas, seven acres of land and a purpose built hall where they enjoy the excellent learning opportunities made available to them.
We follow a child led approach to learning and make use of the outdoors whenever we can.Each child has their own set of waterproofs to ensure they can take full advantage of the inspirational outdoor classroom and our grounds where children’s natural curiosity and creativity is developed.
The Pre-School children are also made to feel very much part of the school as they are offered Music and PE sessions which are taught by specialist teachers on a weekly basis. They also enjoys trips such as the theatre and visits into Pre-School such as Zoolab.
The highly qualified staff ensure that each child’s individual needs and interests are met through stimulating and challenging opportunities.
Our Childcare Provision
Ghyll Royd Pre-School provides care from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday during term time and also holiday cover for the majority of the school holidays, excluding the two weeks at Christmas. We offer morning and/or afternoon sessions. We participate in the Government Nursery Education Grant funding which entitles your child to 15 hours per week of subsidised child care.
