About Us
New Bridge is a 60 place (full time equivalent) Local Authority Nursery School serving a mixed catchment area. We are situated close to Reading and the borders of Oxfordshire. It is an established area with a supportive community.
Our Childcare Provision
The mainstream children join one of two groups as a base, but they are encouraged to use all areas of the Nursery, both inside and out, returning for story time. Staff work in two teams, each having an Early Years Specialist Teacher and three experienced Early Years Practitioners to a registered group of thirty children each session. Staff work together for the benefit of all the children and meet daily to discuss and plan for the children’s needs.
New Bridge has developed a specialism in Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and have established the Snowflake Centre as a resource for ten children with a diagnosis of Autism. Children access specialist resources and highly trained staff support their learning and development in the Centre and when integrating into the main Nursery.
At New Bridge Nursery School, above all else, we want children to have fun because we believe that children learn best through play. We plan our activities to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum whilst remaining flexible and open to the individual interests and needs of every child in our care. We encourage children to take the lead in their own learning.
