The Cavendish School

31 Inverness Street, London, NW1 7HB

The Cavendish School is an other independent school school in London. According to the latest government data, it has approximately 250 pupils and allows entry for children aged 2-11.

About Us

The Cavendish is a small, inclusive independent school for girls aged 3-11 and boys aged 3-7. Non-selective at entry, we pride ourselves on our high level of pastoral care which we combine with high-quality teaching and a broad, balanced curriculum enriched with arts, languages and sport to ensure that the needs of each individual child are met. Pupils go on to a range of excellent senior schools, often with scholarships. Originally a Catholic foundation, we now welcome pupils of all faiths and none.

This is an exciting time to be at The Cavendish. The hard work of our staff was recently recognised in our 2016 Independent Schools Inspection when we were judged to be ‘excellent’, the highest grade achievable, in every category. We’ve just expanded into a new building, which provides more classrooms and a 200-seater multi-use auditorium.

Our Childcare Provision

All pupils must attend the school full-time, from 8.25 to 3.25, with the exception of Nursery, who must attend all morning sessions but may attend as many or as few afternoon sessions as they like. The Cavendish also provides a Breakfast Club which opens at 7.45, and an after-school care club which runs until 5.30.
