About Me

Staffordshire based babysitter. DBS, First Aid, Safeguarding, and Food Safety training with SEND, EAL, and EBD experience.

Hello! I’m Ellie (Ellie Rose Babysitting), a qualified childcare practitioner and babysitter with 10 years of experience working with children and young people from 0 to 18. Including time as Deputy Manager of a Preschool and Support Worker for an ASD residential home. As well as in an abundance of childcare establishments, with children’s charities and in family homes across Staffordshire and the Midlands.

I pride myself on being ‘professional with a personality’, always putting my responsibility as your children’s babysitter first; through being a mature, trustworthy, and reliable individual. As well as maintaining my fun, friendly, down-to-earth and creative personality. I have a Level 3 CACHE Childcare qualification, as well as a Certificate of Higher Education in BA (Hons) Primary Education. Furthermore, I possess a clean and current enhanced DBS, clean driving licence with a business insured vehicle, and up-to-date training in Safeguarding, Food Safety, First Aid, and Team Teach.

I never want to be seen as the ‘dreaded babysitter’ but someone both you and your children look forward to seeing and spending time with. Consistently providing your children with exciting and engaging experiences, I love to leave them with a catalogue of stories to share at the end of each sit. From going on bear hunts and mud pie making in the Autumn, to festive crafts and making snow-people in the Winter. Picnics in the park, soft play and petting zoos in the Spring, to water fights and making slime in the Summer. I am passionate about children learning through play and hands-on experiences, as well as children, being children for as long as possible. Although movie days and tablet tech are welcome too!

I can emphasise with how difficult choosing the right babysitter must be. So aim to make the process as positive and reassuring as possible. I always meet with my prospective families in advance, offering a free 30-minute trial sit where all parties can get to know one another better. Furthermore, every family receives my ‘babysitting binder’ full of information about me and where you are given the opportunity to share your child’s likes and dislikes, medical needs, and house rules and routines. All information is kept confidential and held securely in accordance with GDPR.

My Experience

I recently left my position as Deputy Manager (SENCo and DSL) of a Preschool. There I provided engaging learning through play opportunities for 3 and 4-year-olds in accordance with the EYFS. As well as providing wraparound school and holiday care for children 5 to 11. Some of our favourite activities include the Gruffalo Cave, Mabel the cardboard milking cow, a Pop-Up community Art Gallery, den building galore, and slime making.

Prior to this, I was a Support Worker in an ASD residential home and special school. And Activity Lead for a children’s charity providing weekend respite activity sessions for children with Special Educational Needs.

Through Childcare training, I have been fortunate to work with a diverse range of outstanding practitioners in an abundance of settings. From baby rooms to Year 6 classrooms, following the Montessori approach to Forest School. As a result, I have extensive knowledge of child development, the Early Years Foundation Stage, and Primary National Curriculum.

As well as having 10 years of experience babysitting across Staffordshire and the Midlands, re-launching Ellie Rose Babysitting in 2023. I’ve been lucky to work in family homes with children of all ages and abilities, including SEND, EAL, and EBD. With my role and responsibilities including, but not limited to:
• Before and after school care, including drop-off and pick up
• School holiday care (ad-hoc and full-time)
• Assisting at children’s birthday parties and providing childcare for family events, such as weddings
• Respite care for families in need

When we first met Ellie for our consultation, she gave our daughter a welcoming pack, with sensory toys, crayons, colouring books & flash cards. This was a hit with our three year old and instantly took to Ellie and her caring nature.
We felt so at ease with Ellie and her natural ability to connect with our daughter.
Although we have a play room with plenty of toys, Ellie would still bring her own bag full of wonderful game, toys, messy play.. the list can go on.
They made slime, painted stones to put in the garden, for mommy and daddy to find the next day, lava lamp in a bottle, loads of craft, educational games, outdoor play on the swing and slide. The one day Ellie brought a massive blank canvas to the house, she got our daughter to paint this with her initial on it, it was amazing and is now in our daughters room.
She also taught our daughter how to spell her name and she has left us with large laminated cards for us to carry on using with her.
Ellie was so amazing with our daughter, to the point my daughter would cry when she had to leave.
I could not recommend Ellie enough, your children will love her!
Thank you Ellie :) xx
