About Me
Hello. I am Cheryl, an experienced Ofsted registered childminder since 2002. I live close to Glebe School, Rayleigh. I am married and have two children, the youngest being born in 2005. We are a non-smoking and no-pet family.
Children will spend most of their time out in the garden or at the local park, beach, or playgroups. There will also be plenty of child-led and adult-led play to keep them busy and active.
My last Ofsted report in 2019 was graded a "Good".
I aim to run home from home experience, making it safe, welcome and fun.

My Experience
Virtually all the children I’ve minded have been long term and are still in contact with them those that have left and now have families of their own. I've many references from past and current parents whose children have attended my setting and are available to view on request. My family and I are all DBS Checked / Police Checked. I hold an up to date Public Liability insurance. I am also a volunteer leader with Scouting for all of my adult life. And this has also given me a lot more experience on how to get the best out of every individual child.
My Qualifications
I have completed courses in paediatric first aid, safeguarding and child protection, child development, working with children with special needs, managing behaviour, food hygiene, and anaphylaxis. I am also part of a Network and have been to many meetings with speakers on lots of different subjects.

Firstly Cheryl we love you, you’re a dream 🥰
Moving to Rayleigh & finding Cheryl….the best move we’ve made! Our little girl has come on leaps & bounds & carries on doing so! She’s turned into a super confident little girl. She has so much fun learning & playing at Cheryl’s, I think she prefers it to home 😂 We honestly cannot believe the change in her. Anybody looking for a childminder this lady is the best.

Both my sons have been with Cheryl since reception and nursery. Cheryl has provided my boys with a safe caring atmosphere in her clean and organised home for the past 7 years whilst I have been a working mum and I trust her implicitly. I would describe Cheryl as calm and knowledgeable and always kind. Both my boys adore Cheryl and I often hear how she cooks better dinners then me, she even managed to get my fussiest eater to eat carrots and he came home asking me to make him some more, a real feat as he has never liked trying new foods however with Cheryls positive encouragement he started to try new things and we could add different foods to the like list! She has a high level of experience so any questions I had regarding their development she always had an answer and guidance.
My eldest son suffered from food allergies and Cheryl treats this with the upmost importance.
Cheryl is also a real positive person so is always smiling which really creates a happy vibe for all the children, whenever I come for pick up there’s also a lot of laughter and good old fashion fun going on which makes me feel better about being at work whilst my son is being looked after. I know he is in the safest hands and really enjoys his time at Cheryls. He comes home happy which really lifts a weight. People like Cheryl are gold dust!

Cheryl has looked after all 3 of my boys - she still looks after the younger two. My eldest is always asking when he can go back there in school holidays. They have a wonderful time there with so many fun and imaginative educational activities. They spend a lot of time outdoors. I remember being in London at work and receiving photos of them having fun on the beach and thinking you couldn't get more perfect childcare than that. Pre covid they met up with two other childminders once a week. This expanded their social circle and gives them experience of being in a larger group. Cheryl also offers healthy, home-cooked meals. Cheryl pays attention to the needs of each child and does activities to help them in whatever areas they need help with. She always goes above and beyond for everyone. You couldn't possibly find a better childminder than Cheryl. My son sometimes says to me why don't you come too one day, I know you'd love it!

I often pick up my granddaughter from Cheryl’s
Cheryl is always good at communicating with me if there has been any issues and always advising on ways to help and support us as a family as my granddaughter has complex need
Cheryl teaches my granddaughter lots of additional things and has made her more confident.
She loves going to Cheryl’s and is never happy about leaving when I collect her.
She’s always been settled there.
Cheryl provides everything needed for any child of any age
Cheryl and her family have supported my family when we needed it most
My granddaughter has been going for over 5 years and I couldn’t recommend anyone so highly as Cheryl,nothing is ever too much trouble.
She’s a very well respected member of the community and would help anybody.

Cheryl has been looking after my children for the last nine years. As an ex-childminder (now Teacher) I cannot recommend her setting highly enough. She meets the needs of every child that comes through her door, as well as provides opportunities for continuous development according to both age and stage. A child-led environment that allows children to make progress in their learning at their own pace. Cheryl manages to provide a home-from-home practice, as well as provide areas dedicated to child’s play. Her home is beautifully clean and well-maintained, and she continuously invests in her provision. Even during a global pandemic, Cheryl has blown us away with how she has adapted and improvised to ensure that all children have opportunities to learn without hinderance. With all areas of the EYFS being met consistently.
In addition, Cheryl has years of experience in dealing with children with additional needs (was amazing for our eldest) and dietary requirements (our youngest’s has allergies and has never had an accident in her care)
If you live in Rayleigh and want reliable childcare that encourages your child to flourish, Cheryl’s Little Angels is the only setting to book into.

Cheryl has been looking after my youngest once a week since he was tiny, and now has the older two after school as well. It’s difficult to put into words just how special Cheryl is. She is calm, kind, fair, hardworking and would do anything to help someone in need. She plans a range of fantastic activities for the children (to the point of mine wanting to go when they don’t need to 🤣) She is incredibly supportive of the whole family and it’s like a home from home for the boys. Cheryl has been an absolute godsend through out lockdown when usual family arrangements weren’t available because of shielding. I will forever be grateful for everything she has done and continues to do for us and I can not recommend her highly enough. To quote my 5 year old “I love Cheryl, she has the best toys ever and I love it when she picks me up from school. When I see her I feel happy”.

Hi I’m Tracey and I have a very challenging job which means my hours also change weekly. Cheryl has been having Ellie since she was in reception she’s now 9 this year.
Cheryl is a very loving and giving person and would do anything to help anyone if she can.
Cheryl has always gone above and beyond to help us through some extremely challenging and upsetting times. She’s always there for support for the parent as well as the child. She has a lovely home which provides much comfort with a lot of activities on hand.It’s a lovely environment and ellie loves going.,if I’ve changed my shift she’s often quite upset that’s she not going which tells you how much the kids love Cheryl. Cheryl’s family are lovely and have been so supportive this year to us
Ellie has autism and other health issues,Cheryl has supported us with assessments and meetings
Ellie is extremely happy there and I’m so happy to be able to give her an outstanding review .

I cannot recommend Cheryl highly enough. She has looked after our eldest child, now 11, and is currently looking after our youngest, 4 years old. Cheryl is very passionate about her job. She's always looking for new, engaging and seasonal activities for the children. Our sons have really enjoyed their time at hers and have become more confident overall. She's a very supportive person, always happy to help with a smile on her face. She creates a happy and encouraging atmosphere for children. Thank you so much for everything to do, Cheryl!

When you book a restaurant or a hotel you’re bound to check out the reviews. You’d never book a 1 or 2 star if you’re travelling alone or with kids if you could have a 5 star experience. This is what you get with Cheryl. An absolute 5 star service which is what you hope to find for your children if you’re making the decision to use childcare.
Cheryl has looked after my youngest who is now 5 since he was 1 year old after Grandma handed in her notice after the first. During his time with Cheryl he has made some lovely friends that have moved on into school with him. The activities and play he did at Cheryls setting prepared him well for school life, which started at nursery being picked up and given lunch by Cheryl until I collected him.
Now my youngest is in Reception my two go in school holidays now. They usually have an adventure out, Cheryl takes them to nice places for fun, or they’ve had fun with other children at Cheryls home or in her garden in the summer.. which is super fun according to my boys. We’ve had lots of lovely crafts come home for all the events, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween... all of which keep them occupied and they’re pleased to show me at pick up.
At Cheryl’s the boys have been safe, well looked after and stimulated with things they can do or play. The whole family are such nice people and Cheryl’s own sons are a credit to her and quite a hit with my children too!
When choosing a childminder once you know what it’s like to have a ‘Cheryl’ you won’t want to be without her. I’m very glad she was recommended to me.

Thank you for your wonderful review. They have lots of fab memories to take with them of the time spent at mine and it is lovely to watch them run the door eager to come on the next adventure.
My children (now aged 12 and 9) have been with Cheryl since they were 1 and 8mths old respectively. We feel so lucky to have found her! My daughter moved up to secondary school last year and created a photo book to say thank you for all the fun and support over the years - ranging from first steps and first words to the the ups and downs. My son loves outside play and activities as well as engaging with the other children. Food provided is excellent and is often used as a benchmark!
