My Summary
About Me
I live with my husband and 3 children in a 4 bed detached house in Bradwell Common. My 3 children are aged 18 years, 15 years and 12 years. I also have 3 step-children; all are grown up now so we see them when they can fit us in to their busy schedule! We love pets in our home and have 2 small young dogs (Westie cross miniature schnauzer - non moulting) called Teddi & Vader and 3 cats, all of them love children and love a fuss but they are kept in a separate room to the main childminding area. We also have a leopard ghecko called Spyro.
I thrive off children and find their enthusiasm, laughter and excitement contagious. I feel like they keep me young! I provide a safe, secure while warm, friendly, fun and stimulating environment, with a range of toys, games, activities and equipment. In addition I have a 7-seater Qashqai enabling me to take the children on outings when we feel like it. We take regular trips to local activities such as the park, the SureStart Centre, the library, 360, Willen Lake and Linford Wood. In the school holidays I like to take the opportunity to take the children further afield such as Mead Open Farm, a Pick-Your-Own farms, the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham, Museums and the seaside, to name a few. I also keep up to date with the activities offered by the MK Play Association and Parks Trust in the holidays as they offer lots of activities that the children enjoy.
I drop off and pick up children from Bradwell Common Pre-School and Summerfield School.
My Experience
As well as my own 3 children I have been childminding since January 2007. Prior, inbetween and since then I have often cared for children for friends and family.
In addition to my childminding, since 2007 I have been on the committee and help run the local pre-school from behind the scenes and I am now Chair of the Committee. In February 2012 I was elected as the new parent school governor, opted to take on the role as Safeguarding, SEND & Mental Health and Well-being Governor, and I love being a part of school life. I was successfully re - elected in February 2020 as a co-opted vice chair of governors.
Through my childminding, the school and the pre-school I have numerous support, advice and guidance for myself, the children and the parents.
My Qualifications
I have completed my NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development in 2010 and started my Foundation Degree (Level 4 & 5) Certficate in Childcare Practice with the Open University, of which I have completed my level 4. I have also recently enrolled in Child Psychology and Child Psychology in Education.
I was a member of the Childminding Network and have became an Accredited Childminder when the Network existed, which is an honour in itself. Through this and my qualifications I am able to offer 2, 3 and 4 year olds government funded sessions, up to 15 hours per week term time or 30 hours extended entitlement, for those who cannot get places at a pre-school or would rather place their child with a childminder for these sessions. These sessions are dependant on what vacancies I have.
My First Aid in Paediatrics is up to date and throughout this year I have a number of short courses booked, including awareness for autism, aspergers and dyslexia, Enhancing Child Safety and Face Painting! I have had my inspection from Environmental Health, as I prepare all meals from scratch, and passed with flying colours with a 5 star rating. I am continuously looking to enhance and update my knowledge and qualifications.
My Availability
** I currently have no spaces until September 2023 **
I have a registered assistant to work with me on an adhoc basis who is fully trained with Safeguarding, Child Protection and first aid, with a fully enhanced DBS check. It is my personal choice to keep my numbers low so we can get out and about when we need to and so children do not feel they are competing for my attention.
Funded vacancies: These usually run during school hours in 3, 5 or 6 hourly sessions, between 9am and 3pm, term time only.
School Holiday vacancies: I currently have no spaces available.
Emergency Care: Please call if you are stuck as, although not guaranteed, I may be able to help on the odd occasion due to various shift patterns.
I do consider and take on shift work, however I do not work evenings or weekends unless in an emergency. I also am not available to work public holidays unless it is an emergency. My usual hours are Monday to Friday, 8am until 6pm. I do consider hours before and after these usual hours on an occasional or regular basis, particularly for those parents who commute.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My fees are all inclusive, so there are no hidden costs. This means that all meals and snacks are included, nappies and wipes can be included. If babies are on formula I do ask that parents provide this, however I do make home-made puréed foods for weaning and support BLW. They also include outing entrance fees up to £5. If entrance fees are going be above £5 you will be given plenty of notice and asked to make a contribution towards the cost. My fees are as follows:
Full Time (8hrs+ per day): from £5 per hour
Part-Time: from £5 per hour
Before and After School Care: £10 for the first 2 hours (minimum payment), then £5 per hour
Fees are paid in advance. Daily, weekly or monthly payments are all accepted. I am registered with various voucher schemes and welcome payment with childcare vouchers. I am also registered for the government tax-free childcare scheme. I do not accept cheques.

Michelle has been looking after our son for the past 2 and a half years and our daughter for the past 5 months and she has provided an exceptional service since day one of meeting her. When our children are in her care we know that they are safe and looked after, she keeps us updated when of everything that is going on and keeps children busy with different activities (I am most impressed with the cooking that they do). We are ever so thankful to her for taking a great care of our children healthwise - we were always informed and kept updated. And her flexibility at short notice is very much appreciated too.
My daughter started going into Michelle 's care when she was 13 months old. I am quite impressed with the care that she provides. She is very cheerful and caring. She keeps me informed of the sargun 's progress and development. She provides a stimulating environment to the children in her care. She takes children to Library, Toddler's group , messy play, to the lake and also involve them in baking. Sargun absolutely loves to go there and she has made some good friends with other children.I highly recommend her services to any parents who are looking for a professional childcare
Michelle is a highly professional childminder whose services we have been using for a year. During this time she has proven to be a very reliable person and we have no concerns leaving our two year old in her care. Michelle always greets us with a smile and she is very easy to talk to. Our son loves going to Michelle's and we highly recommend her to any parent who is looking for quality childcare.
