About Me
my name is Laura , I am an ofsted registered childminder i was graded good in all areas in Feb 2020 . I live in freshbrook with my husband Paul & our son tyler who is 20 we also have a 24 year old daughter who has now flown the nest . we have 2 dogs a 2 year old who's name is Bruce ( french bulldog ) he is very friendly and loves the attention from all the children that I care for . We also have a 15 month old puppy named blu he is very playful and under training and it’s going well . They have their own space In the house , they don’t generally have the Rome of the house when I'm working I have stair gates . They also have a separate part of the garden . We brought our home 19 years ago and are very happy here its a lovely size with enclosed gardens back and front . we are fortunate to have lydiard park very close by , and also many toddler groups , soft play , local Librarys ,lesuire facilities and much more .
As a family we like to go and watch ice hockey our son used to play ice hockey for Swindon . We go dog walking , and we have our own touring caravan so will have lots of trips away. childminding has been a carrier ive always wanted to do but never had the chance when my children were small , so to be able to take this carer move was a dream , it is very rewarding watching and helping the children develop and I have been doing this 10 years now and happy to say that some of the children who are with me now have been since I started or at least 6 years
I am a professional person and like to put the needs of your children first . Routine is key for children .
I provide a happy, safe , clean and nurturing home environment for the children to have the individual care and attention they need . Children learn through play with adult led activities thrown in long the way .
I operate policies to enhance your childs mind , behaviour .and understanding and consider continuity of care a priority.
The service i provide is what I would expect should i be the one seeking childcare .
I have many educational toys , games , books , creative play toys , and much more for them to play with at there leisure .
and to help the children to develope in line with the standards set by ofsted an the EYFS
My Experience
i have been a fulltime working mum for 23 years aswell as being manager of hairdressing suppliers , I do also have some hairdressing clients , i have many friends who i have looked after their children and always been happy with my care .and also family members with young children and being a mum myself to two children so lots of experience . But I have been childminding 10 years now .
i am very much enjoying being a fulltime childminder .I have my level 3 diploma qualification , first aid , safeguarding,behaviour management and have many other courses . We also have to update these courses over time

Husband is registered as my assistant,holds a full paediatric first aid qualification and safeguarding level 1
Always handy to have extra hands In the holidays if needed
And I am looking to recruit a full time assistant from September 2025
My Availability
I currently have spaces available for September 2025 starts for under school age , as I am recruiting a staff member to work with me .
I do accept the government funding for 9 months - 2, 3 & 4 year olds .

I cover Hazelwood academy Toothill school and pre school , but have very limited space .
I may be able to accommodate some collections or drop offs from there .

We were very sceptical of getting our little girl into childcare this early on due to a very difficult pregnancy and difficult start to her life. However since the moment we met Laura and her family we felt at ease. Laura is professional, caring, dedicated, flexible and loving childminder. I honestly can’t rate Laura’s service enough. Olivia loves going to childcare meeting all the other children, joining in on activities and being cared for by Laura. Laura thank you for everything you have done so far for us. We are so lucky to have met you.

Thank you so much for your review , it means a lot to me to know , you and Scott are happy with the care Olivia is receiving . I completely understand how hard it must of been for you to leave Olivia with a complete stranger . I try my best to put parents at ease as much as possible . She is a happy little lady and for the start in life she has had she is doing fantastically well , and we try to involve her in all that we can activity wise at such a young age .
I really appreciate you picking my settling for Olivia she has made a lovely addition with the other children she is very loved by all .
I would just like to start with saying what an amazing childminder this lady is. She has been looking after my daughter for almost 3 years now and recently started looking after my youngest daughter in September. Laura offers a home from home environment with her two children, husband and two lovely dogs. She offers a wide range of activities both within the home setting and outside, including planned day trips for the children. She offers a range of different cultural activities teaching the children about different religious holidays/events and language. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds with communication, reading, writing and problem solving which laura incorporates into a fun learning environment for all the children. She offers a brilliant form of communication from verbal communication at pick ups and drop off, and in the form of daily journals and progress reports. Laura has always been very accommodating of variable hours and will try and tailor hours and activities around people's needs. Laura supplies a range of different snacks for the children, often getting them to help with baking and making different foods. Laura is an incredibly approachable lady as is her husband paul and is happy to help with any problems, issues or advice needed. Laura has built up a fantastic relationship with my children who adore her to pieces. A wonderful lady and childminder.

Thank you , for your quick response , and for looking after my 7 year old at such short notice , she had a brilliant time and really enjoyed doing the crafty bits with you , I will be definitely using you again for my childcare needs and will recommend you to all my friends and family too .
