About Me
. I am a registered childminder and provide a home from home for the children I care for. I have spaces from April, I will also provide a space for short term children. I specialise in caring for younger children, I do not do school or nursery pick up. I love the fun we have together, we might be outside exploring or running in a park. We are so lucky to have some wonderful parks in St Albans, Highfield park has great woods to look for the gruffalo in. Being outside is so good for children, they pick up sticks to draw pictures and just run fast for fun. We also do some cooking, sometimes it might be bread or mini cupcakes. At the moment the children want to paint lots of pictures. We go to Willows and the zoo as well as childminder groups. I enjoy encouraging children to explore their environment and to allow them to develop at their own pace. My aim is to send home happy but tired (and often dirty) children. In the summer the children will plant seeds and can watch them grow. As with all childminders and day care I follow the EYFS
My Experience
I was a nanny previously, caring for children from birth to 18+. I have a B.A. in Childhood and Youth studies which I did while working full time . I voluntered for two days a week in a state Primary school so I could be obsereved for my N.V.Q. level 3 in child care learning and development. I am interested in language development in children. I have been a childminder for 14 years both in London and now ST Albans.

I am open 07.30 to 1730 i do not care for after school children as I focus on younger children. I will have a space in April.

Our daughter started here when she was 19 months old and Jackie has looked after our daughter for more than 1 year. Our daughter has delayed milestones, she walked independently only at 22 months. We are very impressed by the individual care and fantastic support Jackie has provided and the development we see in our daughter so far. Our daughter is very fond of Jackie and she has a smile on her face as soon as she sees Jackie, which is very reassuring.
Jackie takes children daily to various parks, farms, playgroups. She provides us notes and information on where they went that day, what they did, what they ate, their nap details etc on daily basis and also includes photos which is incredibly helpful. Having no family around, and not confident of leaving our daughter with friends, we asked Jackie and she also helped us with baby sitting. After 1+ years at this setting, we are happy to have chosen Jackie over a nursery and would not hesitate to recommend her as a childminder to anyone.

We feel so lucky to have had Jackie as our childminder. She has taken care of both our daughters for a period of 5 years and she has become a family friend. She has vast experience. She cooks delicious food and teaches good table manners which we appreciated. Our girls adore her and we feel 100% confident that our children are happy and safe in her care. We couldn’t recommend her more.

WE COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE
....than Jackie gives to us and our daughter in terms of the fantastic childcare.She fills their time with fun activities from across the range of creative and active, but also gives them plenty of time to play with the great range of toys.She also is very professional and does care greatly about developing the children.Our girl has improved her speech and learn a lot while with Jackie. She really enjoys her time with Jackie and the other children.Jackie has very flexible hours.She has had our girl extra days, weekends, early mornings or late, huge advantage when we don't have family close by to help out.
We feel very lucky that we found Jackie.

Our son has been in Jackie's full-time care for over a year now. He really enjoys going to her home and even shouts 'Jackie' in excitement as we enter her home. She has been wonderful with our son who was born prematurely (11 weeks early) and suffered from reflux. Jackie's influence and skill set have contributed to the amazing development of our son given his tough start to life. His language is very advanced for a 2 year old and a large part of that is due to the nuturing and care Jackie provides. Her experience is invaluable and I often ask for pieces of advice on different matters. We cannot recoommend Jackie enough and if you have the opportunity to have your child in her care you are very very fortunate.

Our little boy has been going to Jackie for a few months now and we couldn't be happier... She amazing with the children and we couldn't feel more confident leaving him in her care. She's really flexible and has had him extra days which makes a huge difference.
I would recommend her to anyone!
