My Summary
About Me
Hi, I'm sue. I work along side my daughter as a mother and daughter team. I have been a registered childminder since 1998, previous to being a childminder, I was a Nanny for 5 years. My daughter has been registered since 2016 and also worked in a nursery for 3 years.
We moved into the Ditton Aylesford area (opposite k-sports. Previously cobdown) from South East London in August 2013
I live with my husband and son who is 16. We have 3 children, 2 girls and a boy. Overv16s in the house are police checked by ofsted. My middle daughter who I work with lives in larkfield with her partner and 2 daughters.
I have a 4 year old cat and a dog, just over 8 years old. He is a boxer cross, very gentle and very sociable, the children in my care here love him and he loves them, he has a wonderful nature and parents will also confirm this, but he is still supervised around children and not left in a room alone with them., my daughter brings her puppy with her each day, she is a pugapoo. my house has a large area I use as a play room, I also have a large garden that the children play in, with paddling pool, water/sand table, slide, sit and ride cars and many more toys
My Experience
I worked as a nanny from the age of 19 to 24, taking a break when I had my first daughter, then returning to the same family when my daughter was 10 weeks old to care for 2 boys and a 21 week old, so it was a bit like looking after twins. I gave up working as a Nanny when I was due to have my second child.
When my daughter was 2 and half, I registered as a childminder and have been childminding ever since. When I lived in London I was never out of work except when I went on maternity leave to have my son, but then all my children came back to me when he was just 3 months old.
I have looked after children from the age of 3 months up to aged 11 years,
During my last inspection which was in June 2018 I was awarded good with outstanding features.
children in my care are well looked after, they par take in many activities including crafts, cooking, small world play. we enjoy going on walks, both with and without the dog to feed the ducks in the local stream or just to play areas
I follow the EYFS and do observations on all children as well as create a photo album of their time spent with me.
I have many references and parents of the previous children I have cared for are happy to speak to new parents on the phone to give verbal references and help with any concerns they may. current and past parents are also happy to speak to any concerned but interested parents regarding the nature of the dog.

Sue and Jess have been watching, teaching, guiding and supporting my son since he was coming up to a year old. He has enjoyed every moment spent with them and always looked forward to attending. He made so many new friends and such great connections with everyone there. They have taught him so much and helped him grow into an independent, confident and very smart little boy. We are so sad to be leaving them due to moving house and wish we could take them with us. My son is soon to be three and is ahead in so much and I really believe this is because oh how he has been cared for. I really cannot recommend and thank Sue and Jess enough. If you are lucky enough to put your little one into their care you will not have a single regret, they’re both amazing.

Thank you so much, H is going to be missed so much. The older ones of the group are already asking where he is.
Sue and Jess have been taking care of my son since he was 14 months right until it was time to leave for school. I couldn’t recommend them enough, they are kind and caring towards the children and I felt very safe leaving my son in their care.
My son was very shy and quite when he first started, but with Sue’s help he is now a very loud and confident little boy. He has made such an amazing bond with sue and Jess as well as making so many friends, we are gutted that it’s time for him to move on to big school.
Again, I couldn’t recommend them enough, they provide amazing care for all the children there. Thank you both for everything you have done for my son over the years, you will both be missed greatly!

It has been a pleasure watching this shy boy, who wouldn't say a word, slowly emerge
from his shell. He made Jess and I work hard, to get the confident friendly chatty bossy boy to where he is today. He is already missed by everyone. The boys are constantly asking when he is coming. So il arrange a playdate for the next week or 2. Thank you so much for your lovely review.
Sue and Jess looked after our two children from when they were 10 months till starting school. Our youngest has just left to start school next week. Sue and Jess have provided such loving care for my children as well as helping them prepare for their next adventure.
We choose Sue and Jess as we felt it gave the closest care to what my children would get at home. Leaving them from a young age I wanted them to be comfortable in a well run family home and interacting with animals.
Sue and Jess have taught my children so much and brought better behaviour to my wild child and they will be missed but will certainly keep in touch.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this childcare duo.

Your wild child is one of the most loving children we have ever looked after, not an hour goes by, without a cuddle and a declaration of love. We will miss being interrupted by him, to be told sue jess I love you. Wild, but such a sweetie. I look forward to meet ups in the park in the holidays.
Sue and Jess looked after our two children (now 6 & 4) for 3 years. I couldn’t have asked for a better mother and daughter team.
Sue’s home is spotless and well equipped and I love the fact my children had the ‘home setting’ that I was after.
Sue and Jess have quite often been my mentor with how to handle ‘lively’ children and have always dealt with my children’s strong characters with great respect.
Whilst COVID caused mayhem for some of our duration, Sue and Jess continued to perform a great service and I am truly gutted our time has come to an end now that my youngest starts school. Thankfully we only live round the corner so we have kept in touch.

Thank you Michelle, we are going to miss them both, a certain young man certainly bought a lot of character and humour into the house. It's so quiet without him.
So glad we can stay in touch. Its nice when friendships form through work
I looked at lots of different childcare settings before I found Sue on this website.
My son was 5 months old when he started with Sue and Jess. I was very nervous about leaving him. However, Sue made the transition easier by sending pictures throughout the day. The care which is provided is to a very high standard. Sue and Jess are both very friendly and welcoming.
They do lots of different indoor and outdoor activities with the kids such as arts & crafts, reading books, visiting the park, going to the farm, singing and dancing! Sue has a lovely home with lots of toys/books and a big garden where the kids enjoy playing & the paddling pool in the summer.
Sue and Jess spend a lot of time learning through play where my son has met a number of different milestones. His development & achievements are record in his own personal folder which is given to you to take home throughout the year.
Sue has been flexible when I have needed to change my sons hours due to work commitments.
They have a friendly dog who is amazing with the children as well as a cat. As we have a dog at home it has helped my son to respect our dog and be confident around different animals.
My son loves being at Sue’s & Jess’s and will really miss not coming here anymore. He just walks in without saying bye to me. He feels very comfortable going here. Due to having a new baby and deciding to take some time off with my children my son & daughter would have spent more years in their care. I couldn't have wished for better care for my son. Thank you very much!

Thank you so much for your lovely words sian. Its been such a pleasure looking after your little man. He is going to be missed by both jess and I and all the other children x
My eldest daughter started with Sue when she was 7 months old and two years later my youngest daughter joined at 6 months of age. To this day I am so happy with having chosen Sue and Jess to look after my children. They are friendly, welcoming and have a wonderful sense of humour. The care they provide is to a very high standard.
My main request for anyone who was to look after my children is to have home-away-from-home care and that is exactly what my girls are getting, if not more. She has a lovely spacious home with a big garden and so many toys, it's like a kids paradise! They take the girls out to the park, the farm and have been to the cinema on several occassions. My girls have had so many experiences whilst being under Sue and Jess' care.
They have a friendly dog who is amazing with the children as well as a cat. Even though a pet wasn't the highest on my priority list I feel my children are priviliged to have contact with animals and learn to care for them and respect them.
Sue and Jess also spend a lot of time learning through play with the children. Unfortunately Ofsted have such high expectations with regards to education within a childcare setting - which I totally disagree with, children should just play and have fun. But Sue and Jess do really well at helping the girls achieve the goals as set out by Ofsted. Twice a year we get to take home their folder to look through.
My girls just love being at Sue's house and often don't want to come home with me. I have developed a lovely friendship with her and Jess and if it wasn't for us moving abroad, my girls would have spent many more years in their care. Even though my girls don't realise it, I'm sure they will often be asking for them.
I truly hope you will consider Sue and Jess to care for your child/children. I couldn't have wished for better.

Thank you so much, you have no idea how much the girls are going to be missed, its made even sadder because of the friendships that have formed.
We shall definetly stay in touch x
Sue has had my daughter from just after her 1st birthday. We started 1 day a week and have steadily increased to 4 days.
My daughter has loved every moment or her time with Sue and Jess and will miss them and the rest of the family as well as her friends, but after 2 and a half years we have moved away.
I would (and have) recommend Sue to anyone. Her mix of common sense, no nonsense fun has done wonders for my little girl, whose development as been unbelievable.
Sue, thank you, for everything. You're amazing. L and Bunny will miss you so much.

Thank you. We are going to miss "L" a lot, and bunny.. its mainly been a pleasure looking after her, sometimes challanging but mainly a pleasure lol. Jess and I wont be the only ones to miss her, the children have all become such a great little bunch of friends, that they will also miss her a lot x
Sue has looked after my little boy since he was 10 months old. I found it easy to choose Sue over others we saw due to her warm, caring personality.
Ellis settled in really easily and has enjoyed all his time with her. I found returning to work easier because I knew I would be leaving Ellis in a nurturing environment.
He has made great friends and the setting she provides is second to none.
A truly exceptional person. The only reason we are leaving is that he is to spend more time at Pre school to prepare him for the big move.

Thank you for a lovely review. Ellis is a lovely little boy, very caring and very well behaved. He is a real credit to you. Jess and myself will miss Ellis as will a certain young lady that plays with Ellis every Thursday. I wish Ellis all the luck in his pre school x
Sue has been childminding for my little boy foe the past 15 months, in this time she has helped him develop from a 9 month old baby to fun, outgoing, confident and bubbly toddler. Sue and her family have been consistently warm and welcoming and the family dog has become a most trusted and loved friend of my little guy. In his time at Sues, J has been on daily outings, enjoyed her expansive garden and in addition to playing with the wide variety of toys she provides, he has engaged in a wide range of play activities including play dough, painting, collage. We love looking though his observations and photos to see all of the exciting things and mile stones he has reached during his time with her. Sue is a warm and caring child minder who has a calm and consistent manner with little ones, she has been attentive and sensitive to J's needs, giving him plenty of cuddles when needed and supporting myself and my husband with her advice and experience. Sue really has been a god send and made returning to work as a new mum much easier than I anticipated, it is with tremendous sadness that we are moving on due to changes in personal circumstances.

Thank you so much for your lovely words. Im not sure who will miss J most. Marley or myself. It has been a pleasure watching and helping J grow into the lovely little boy he is
Sue has looked after my little girl from 16 months through to 4 1/2 years. She and her family have always been accommodating, reliable and, most importantly, kind and fun.
My daughters time with Sue has really been a home from home which is what I wanted while she was still so little. Always patient and full of good advice for new parents we all miss Sue since her move to Kent. I really can't recommend her enough.
