My Summary
About Me
Available for primary school tutoring and babysitting/some evenings and weekends.
Hello.... :) I'm 37, female, a qualified primary teacher, experienced nanny and private tutor. I have experience caring for multiple children from new born age, and experience of special needs through my time as an Early Years Practitioner. I have a good knowledge of the primary school curriculum, and currently work in a year 3 class.
I have been working as a teaching assistant on the Wirral since June - this gives me the opportunity to work in a primary setting and use my teaching skills without the pressures of being a full time teacher. Since moving back to the Wirral a few years ago I spent a year nannying for a 9 month old in Calday after spending 18 months working for a family in West Kirby with three children, aged 3, 6 and 8. Prior to this I worked as a full time Nanny in London for 2-3 years. During this time I worked for three gorgeous families, caring for their children (aged newborn to six years) in Islington and London Bridge. My role began as a shared Nanny for two families, and I cared for their little boy and girl, both around 9 months when I started working for them. This was a sole charge role, though we enjoyed spending time together with the families when their time and work allowed. My days began at 7:45, and I would dress and breakfast the babies, and undertake all expected duties around their care. We attended baby classes and enjoyed days out to parks, play centres, museums etc. Both families went on to have another little one, and when one family moved out of the area, I split my time between the family in Islington and their cousins in London Bridge (aged two and four when I started with them). The children were homeschooled and I assisted in their learning, through daily activities and teaching of maths, phonics reading and writing.
Before moving to London, I worked for 18 months as a full time nanny in Manchester for a family with four young children (now aged 1, 3, 5 and 6). I also looked after two gorgeous boys once a week (aged 9 and 11), and tutored the youngest for one to two hours each week, focusing mainly on reading and writing and helping with his Dyslexia. We worked on any specific difficulties he was having in school, homework projects, and general Maths and English. I love little ones and was sad to leave my previous families at Christmas, but excited for my new Nanny role.
Prior to being a full time nanny I spent Summer 2016 volunteering as a teacher and orphanage helper in Tanzania. I have my own car, and am happy to travel for work. I will care for children of any age, and totally open to discussing any special needs care.
I’m absolutely passionate about working with children, and am kind and caring in my approach. I’m creative and loving, and relish the opportunity to have a positive impact on the educational, social and emotional development of any child in my care.
My Experience
Since qualifying as a Primary School Teacher in 2013, I have worked as a Reception Teacher, and most recently spent two years teaching a Nursery class of 52 children. Having decided it was time for a classroom break I became a nanny in September 2016 and love it. I also spent 6 weeks last Summer in Tanzania, Africa, volunteering in an orphanage for children aged one and upwards, and Primary School. My previous family have four children who I have cared for since they were between 3 months and 5 years old, and my new Nanny position is looking after two 11 month olds.
During my four year Primary Education degree, I worked in many different primary schools teaching and caring for children of all ages. Prior to completing my degree I worked as a nanny and tutor for a family with four young girls (6 months, 3, 5 and 11). I loved this. I've also babysat for two boys since I was 16 and seen them grow from babies into highschoolers. As well as this, I have nannied in Australia and Trinidad for a family I previously worked for in the UK, and also have experience working with children with special needs - for example working one-on-one with a young lad with ASD.
My Qualifications
I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a 2:1 in Primary Education. This was a four year course and I graduated with qualified teacher status. I specialised in Early Years and Learning Through Play.
I also have A Levels in Psychology, Philosophy of Religion, English Language and Literature, General Studies and Film Studies.
I recently completed a Paediatric First Aid course.

Jen has been working as a nanny for us on a nearly full time basis for the last 15 months. Jen looks after our four children (currently aged 6, 5, 3 and 18 months) about 33 hours per week. She provides some wrap around care for the older children who are in school and also looks after the youngest ones during the day. Jen gets involved in all aspects of our daily lives, often coming in early enough to get the kids up and ready for school and other days staying to give the kids a bath in the evening.
The kids love Jen and she has really become part of the family. They really enjoy doing lots of different creative activities with her as well as going out on adventures. Jen is enthusiastic and fun, so the kids enjoy spending time with her. However, she's also very responsible and reliable with good time keeping, so she does a great job of getting the kids to school on time and making sure they're in the right place at the right time for their after school activities.
Jen has been happy to help out round the house which has been so useful - we have laundry coming out of our ears! She's looked after our youngest since he was four months old, and has been great both with our kids as small babies and as more boisterous children. She will definitely be missed!
RainbowB has been babysitting my two boys (aged 11 and 8) for nearly a year now. She is kind, patient, witty, flexible, and reliable. She does great craft activities with my boys which they love. She is very artistic. She also takes them on adventures to Chorlton Water Park etc. As a qualified teacher, she has also helped my boy with his dyslexia and she is extremely capable in this regard. My boys love her. She is friendly and calm, so great to work with as hard-pressed parents.
She is the Rolls Royce of babysitters. Highly professional, kind, reliable, and creative.
How lucky we have been to know RainbowB!
Jen looked after our 2 boys aged 3 and 5. She played games with them, took them out to the park, fed them lunch and supper, and put them to bed with stories. We couldn't have asked for a better carer for the kids, and we will be happy to call on her again!
