About Me
My name is Gemma I am located in Netherton and happily married with two daughters and two sons.
I love looking after children and helping them grow into inquisitive, independent, confident individuals.
I provide a loving, caring, homely environment for your child and are a provider of the early years foundation stage.
I am also a provider of NEF which means I can offer your 3 up to 5yr old child 15 to 30hrs of free nursery education per week, I also offer 15urs time for 2's and working parent code 30hrs from 9mths to 5yrs, if you are unsure if you qualify please check the government website child care choices for more details .
I will provide your child with fun filled days of activity and the love and support you would expect from a home environment and experienced mummy. As a mum myself, I understand how important your child is to you and how very difficult it is to leave them, for this reason I provide the opportunity for all parents to view the setting and children to attend settling in sessions so your little one/s to get to know me and my family.
My Experience
I have experience working in day nurseries, preschool nurseries, schools and colleges, caring for babies, teaching children, teenagers, and adults.
I have 7 years teaching experience and over 20 years child minding experience.
I have worked with children in special needs schools and have a basic BSL training.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified teacher, a Early Years Qualified Practitioner, and a Mum.
I have 7 years teaching experience, 15 yrs parenting experience and over 20 years childminding experience.

I worked as a full time teacher before the birth of my 1st daughter in 2009 and returned to childminding as I love working with children and wanted to care for my own children whilst also returning to work.
I had worked as a registered childminder before teaching full time then I returned and went through the childminder registration process to re register with ofsted again in 2011
I look after children from 3 months to 5 years currently but are Ofsted registered to care for children upto 8 years + and will also consider siblings upto 12 years in the school holidays.

Gemma provides a lovely environment for the children with a focus on enjoying the outdoors and nature. During his time at Gems Tots, my son was made to feel part of the family. She has done amazing work with teaching him basic makaton and encouraging him with his speech, as well as providing a multitude of enrichment activities. There is a real focus on good nutrition and learning age appropriate life skills. Fantastic provider would definitely recommend.
