Hi, I'm Kay.
I registered as a childminder with Ofsted in 2013.

I live in Lindley with my husband and two children aged 17 and 19.
I run a busy and fun setting in a large detatched house with enclosed and private garden.
I provide lots of age-and-stage appropriate free-play toys and activities in a kind and nurturing environment. I have a staff force of 3 (4 including myself) and each staff member is Ofsted registered and has been trained appropriately and robustly in Safeguarding, Paediatric 1st Aid, and for Early Years Development.
We have two dedicated playrooms (and a third one that can be utilised when needed) and designated downstairs toilet facilities.
I am creative and love to bring out the creative side of children. Music, dance, arts and crafts, baking and cooking all figure heavily in our daily routines. I believe in the value of role play and free play and currently have a home corner, supermarket, hospital and hairdressers, among others.
I love to grow fruit and vegetables with the children and we learn about where our food comes from as we watch them grow and then pick, wash and taste them. Most of the plants in my garden are edible or medicinal in nature and children are encouraged to learn about different smells, tastes, and sensations in the garden and to consider sustainability and gain awareness of where and how our food is produced, for example.
My Experience
Since my registration in 2013 I have cared for many children. The youngest baby was 9 weeks when they started and the oldest stayed on until they were nearly 12.
My Qualifications
Recently graded for the second and consecutive time as an Ofsted Outstanding childcare provider.
I'm Local Authority trained, Ofsted registered, DBS cleared and have Level 3 Paediatric 1st Aid training. I have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate. I also hold certificates in Mental Health Awareness, Administering Medication and Adult 1st Aid training and have undertaken lots more training which is relevant to the role.
My Availability
I care for the children of shift workers, medical staff and police officers as well as regularly scheduled children. Availability changes so it's alway worth enquiring
