About Me
Hi my name is Lynette I have been a registered childminder for 13 years. I live in a spacious end terraced house with 4 bedrooms and a large play area at the rear. I work very hard to ensure that the children that are in my care learn through play activities and also have a real lovely time.
My Experience
I have three grown up sons and did childminding while they were growing up. This I did for 20 years under the local council and social services, left for a short while and did hospital aftercare and home help, but re-registered in 2006 under Ofsted, as I missed looking after the children . With a group of other childminders we organise playgroups 3 mornings a week as well as going to farms, zoos, nature walks and various other outings and activities. Recently as a group of childminders we have rented an allotment, which now having re-established is wonderful for the children to learn about planting,digging,and one section will be made into a forest school the children love it. There are 5 of us in the group all Ofsted registered and the children have a lovely time together. UPDATE we are now running the allotment as a forest school , our children clearly enjoy it as they grow vegetables, pick and eat them, we have lots of different activities as well as meeting people in the community . we have arranged for a dance teacher to come to group every month, everyone gets involved the children absolutely love it.
Also we go to the space centre once centre a month . I like to take the children outdoors as much as possible rather than be inside. I pride myself on getting children ready for school and do my best so the children are able to write their name and know their numbers, personnel care when it is time for school.
My Qualifications
Completed my NVQ 3 and completed my accreditation which will allow parents to be able to claim there free 30 hours. I have been on lots of courses including Safeguarding, First Aid, Eat Well, Speech Language And Communication, Disability Discrimination Act,Smiling For Life, Food Safety ,I go on many courses that will help me deliver better care for the children I look after. On my last Ofsted inspection I was graded good.

Lynette has been looking after my son for a year now, and will soon be taking my youngest too. I honestly can’t say how happy I am with the care my son receives, he absolutely loves going to ‘Nets’. He has developed really well in her care, I love seeing him come home with his writing and crafts. Lynette spends time outdoors with children regularly and he really enjoys the allotment they visit and learning about nature.
I would absolutely recommend Lynette if you are looking for a friendly, reliable childminder who will help your child develop not only on an educational level but also on an emotional level too. She is so welcoming and caring!

We met Lynette after I messaged her on here, she advised that we should meet her and discuss our baby and to see if this would be the right setting for our child, obviously we agreed to this. We met Lynette, and she seemed great, she talked the talk and we thought she would provide the ideal setting for our child. Our child has eczema and therefore he has to have cream on him, Lynette would only have to do this minimum twice whilst he is in her care. We explained all of this whilst we were there. Lynette assured us that this would be perfectly fine, she has looked after children with all different types of conditions and insinuated that this would be nothing compared to what she has dealt with before. We also said that we will contact her when we are home. (This was so that if she didn't feel comfortable looking after our baby, there would be no pressure on her to say yes).
When we got home I messaged Lynette explaining that we would like to have her as his child minder, she agreed. I confirmed dates and times with her everything would go ahead and advised my workplace of this.
The next day she phoned me and explains that the ointment would ruin her carpet so she wouldn't be able to look after him, (although there are non slip mats available which we would even provide). I said okay, if thats how you feel then it is what it is i explained that I had told work and had things put in place around our agreement, I asked her please could you write this down for me as I would need to show work? She said she would of course, no problem at all. She has now refused to do this.
My advice if some promises to do things and lets you down both times I wouldn't trust them with my child.
