About Me

I am a motivated, adaptable and a responsible individual, with a passion for improving the lives of all children and young adults. I’ve worked in the same private nursery setting for 5 years as a nursery practitioner which was an amazing learning experience that has helped me gain all the necessary knowledge and acquire the skillset that it takes to have a successful and impactful career around children. Also, with my level 3 Diploma which covered not only children care yet also youth care. I am a confident professional with the ability to adapt in many different challenging situations. Starting off as an apprentice in a private nursery setting, this gave me the opportunity to not only learn whilst studying for my level 3 diploma in children & young people’s workforce. Yet also, I was able to learn in the setting with being hands on in my job role whilst also learning for via studying and assignments, working alongside my co- workers and managers to assist with any support and answer the many different questions I had. In my role at the nursery setting, I did undertake a variety of daily task that had to be met in a quick and efficient manner and so therefore changes to routine and working in a fast-paced environment is something that I learnt to do relatively fast and has allowed me to adapt and work under immense pressure whilst staying professional and level-headed at the same time. that has allowed me to take these qualities and apply them in my current job role as a receptionist for an award-winning private school. I was given many opportunities during my time at Auden place community nursery to enhance my learning, such as going on training days and coming back to the setting to relay the information by giving presentations in staff meetings, to help figure out ways we can improve the nursery. I worked closely with management and the management committee which is made up mostly of the parents/guardians in the setting. This was an amazing experience in building my communication skills and built my confident massively. My duties in the nursery included ensuring the setting was run to the highest standard. A huge task that I was responsible for is to document my key children’s development following the EYFS (Early years foundation stage) to ensure the children in my care are on track with the 7 areas of the EYFS and are in line with their development. Making sure to be in contact with the SENCO officer and parents to keep up to date with any referrals that may need to be made. In doing the above I have gained an in-dept understanding of the policies and procedures which in turn has allowed me to be self-assured in my abilities to always remain professional and to safeguard all children and adults in and around my care whilst making sure matters remain confidential. As that is of the upmost importance. I was able to offer parents professional advice, respond and deal with complaints in a timely and competent way, weather that may be faced to face or via email or telephone. Some of the key values I can uphold in any workplace that I am employed at are to show kindness, inclusiveness, empathy and to always remain professional. In doing so I have been able to build truly outstanding professional relationships with staff, parents and of course the children. I thoroughly have enjoyed my time being a nursery practitioner, Nanny and now a reception, and have gained the knowledge to be able to apply what I have learnt throughout the years to many different sectors. I am ready to embark on a new journey and accomplish more goals.

My Experience

I have 2 years experience looking after 2 children ages 4 and 5. My duties included picking the children up from school, taking them home, making them a light snack and dinner, bathing them and putting them to bed. I have also cleaned and ironed clothes for the family for extra money. I really enjoyed this and want to carry on nannying. I am leaving this role as the family are relocating abroad and no longer need me. I have excellent references available upon request.
