About Me

Hi my name is Lorna. I am committed to nurturing, developing and supporting your child through his or her personal development using a range of activities, enabling your child to develop through the 7 areas of learning. I provide care for children from the age of 6 months old to 8 years old.

Age appropriate activities are provided allowing your child to develop. I regularly sing with thle children and read stories to them, I provide creative activities, such as arts and crafts, malleable play, construction, mark making, cutting and sticking, painting, sand and water play, cooking and outdoor play. I am lucky enough to have a good sized garden in which your child/ren will also have access to a range of outdoor toys, and outdoor activities such as planting, watering, growing and harvesting.

I ensure that all children in my care are observed to identify their level of understanding and their learning abilities, to enable me to provide a range of activities appropriate for their needs and interests.

The children will be taken out regularly on local trips to toddler groups, the park, and local libraries. With parental permission the children will also be taken to the cinema, farm, and various venues of choice.

The children will receive healthy home cooked meals on a daily basis these meals will include, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks throughout the day in accordance to their times of attendance.

The children are encouraged to participate in helping to grow herbs and vegetables in the garden, and then use them either in a cooking activity. Or they are sent home in exchange for a photo of what your child helped to make at home for our home learning board.
