About Me

I live in the Al7-3 area of Welwyn Garden City with my husband and children.
My setting is a home from home setting and I hold a Good Ofsted rating.
I am Hygge in the early years accredited. Applying the concept of hygge within my early years setting which allows for a home-from-home feeling to emanate. In turn, it helps to create a sense of security and wellbeing that enables the children to feel calm and relaxed, and to explore and investigate with confidence.
In teaching, hygge is about focusing on the process and not the end product. By focusing on the children’s current interests and allow them time to explore, talk and investigate.
Hygge is a long-term investment in self-care and a commitment to providing warmth and happiness around us. Wellbeing has long been overlooked and should be the forefront of health and overall happiness; it’s a mindset to try to surround yourself with. Make the most of your precious moments and enjoy the simple things in life.
I am also a qualified Level 3 Early Years SENCo .
I also offer full fee spaces and 15/30 hour funding for 9 months, 2,3 and 4 year olds.
I accept a variety of childcare vouchers and childcare tax free scheme.

Sam has been my childminder over the past few years when I went back into education. There has been times where I have needed last minute childcare due to changes in shift times and she has always been so accommodating and reliable. She has a lot of patience with the children and offers a home from home environment. Highly recommend x

Sam provided both back up childcare and babysitting for my 2 year old and babysitting for my three girls (2, 6 and 15). She was so warm and thoughtful and took time with them to chat and do lovely things they enjoyed - some very impressive art work too! My 2 year old settled in to her care, despite this not being her usual childcare, immediately and was super excited to go and spend time with her. There were really lovely activities, pictures shared with us and reassurance and I’m very very pleased to feel I have someone I trust to care for the children.

My son has been with Sam when he was 18 months until he went to reception this year and we've been so sad not being able to have our "Sam's day"! Sam is an amazing and adorable person who will look after your child like if it was hers. My children loved to go with her. She's so creative, patient, careful and artistic! Every time there were new fun and educational activities for Tom. Sam planned lots of days out as well. And her Hygge environment is so friendly and educative too. I can't recommend her enough. I knew every time I left my son to Sam that he'll spend an amazing day, that he'll be safe and happy. Tom spoke his first English (we're French) with Sam and had lots of fun doing pre-school activities ;)
Sam is a rare gem I'm the educational system and you can leave your children with her eyes closed.

Our two children (2 and 4.5) have been going to Sam’s for just over a year and there aren’t enough positive things we can say. She plans amazing days for the kids combining education and fun, she looks after them as if they were her own. They love her (we only have to mention it’s a ‘Sam day’ to our youngest and she gets her shoes out and can’t wait to go). We are going to be very sad to not send the kids to Sam anymore as we are moving to another county, but we haven’t yet given up hope of persuading her to move too! Be in no doubt, if your children are minded by Sam they will have a very happy and educational time.

My 3 year old son has been attending childcare with Samantha since September 5 days a week after nursery in the afternoons. He has loved every moment and can't wait to go the following day. Samantha has been reliable and offers a great service where I have seen great progress in my son's special needs. The environment offers great opportunities for growth and development not only academically but socially too.
I would highly recommend her to everyone as a reliable, professional organisation who will go beyond 'the norm'.

My 3 year old son has been going to Samantha since September to be dropped off at nursery 3 times a week. He loves going in the mornings and is always telling me the things he’s got up to even in the short amount of time he is there. Couldn’t have asked for anyone better.

My son attends Samantha's childcare on iset days ect.... He suffered from a young age with stranger and separation anxiety but you would never think this when he's at Sam's.
Sam always promotes independence in a caring environment, my son has blossomed and now attends nursery with great confidence due to His experience here with Sam.

My daughter has been looked after by Sam for a while now and I can not be happier !! My daughter struggles with separation anxiety and doesn’t deal with new things well Sam has worked really hard with my daughter and the difference in her is amazing !! My daughter loves her time with Sam and all the amazing activities she does there would highly recommend Sam and will definitely use Sam in the future !!.
