I am a very friendly, caring and patient person who has always loved being around children and enjoys helping them in all ways possible.
I live in Wilmington have 4 children of my own (1 still at home with me in her early 20’s).
As a childminder, I like to encourage positivity and try to make the day and the children's development varied and fun. I like to promote activities such as painting, arts and crafts, singing/music, story reading /telling and enjoy getting out in the fresh air to go to parks, woodland walk, farms etc. I also like to take them to play groups to develop their social skills and have a change of scenery.
Also, as I have no younger children of my own, I feel I can give your child my undivided attention.
As well as full day under 5’s childcare, I do the morning drop offs and afternoon pick ups lat Wilmington Primary school
I can do an early start if needed (7am)
I promote healthy eating and will always offer a wide variety of fruit and vegetables.
I know how important the settling in period for new children in my care is, and will do everything possible to make sure the experience is as stress-free as possible.
I consider myself as a patient, loving, kind, laid back person who very rarely gets flustered, and is also very calm and reliable and genuinely enjoys being around children and helping them develop in all aspects.
I encourage parents to come meet me and visit my home, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
My Experience
I have always had children around me, I enjoy their company and love the sense of reward and pride watching them acheive their goals.
As well as being a registered childminder, I have 4 children of my own - 2 still living at home who are 13 and 15 and are growing into lovely polite young adults. And 2 older children who have their own homes with children of their own
I have worked at Maypole Primary School as a Midday supervisor, my duties included supervising the dinner hall, playground, administering 1st aid where necessary, promoting fun play in a safe enviroment and generally monitoring that the children were well looked after.
Until recently we have been a host family to foreign students who would stay with us for anything up to two week. Their ages ranged from 11 - 18 and I provided a happy, comfortable and welcoming environment. I was also responsible for providing them with Breakfast, packed lunch, dinner and dessert and would take them to their coach in the morning and pick them up in the evening.
I have also owned my own cleaning business and keep my own home clean and tidy.

Julie is just brilliant!!!! From the very first time I met her and her family, it was just a very warm welcoming family atmosphere as if we had known each other for years. I should say my daughter does not warm up easily and can find it difficult to be left with someone she has just met, but with Julie she connected easily and I did not have to stay with her to adjust or adapt to the environment. She has nothing but positivity and love for Julie and her "delicious breakfast" which she always looks forward to. Even days when she is not due she would rather go to Julies than let me drop her at school, that's just how brilliant Julie is. I am nurse and so do a very early drop offs, and not once has there ever been a problem. To sum it all, Julie is very friendly, caring, has a lovely home ,excellently located and convenient for quick drop offs and is very very reliable I would recommend her with no doubt whatsoever!!!!
