About Me

My name is Cheryl, I'm Ofsted Registered childminder. I live in Prenton with my 4 children and my husband.
My husband works for the NHS but is also registered with Ofsted to help out during his spare time.
I have over 10 years experience working with children. I have mainly worked within the early years sector and most of my experience is working with children from birth to 5 years of age. Before becoming a childminder I worked in a day nursery full time and I also worked in a school as a teaching assistant.
I am based in Prenton, Wirral Only a few minutes from the M53. I am in an ideal location for parents travelling within the Wirral or to Liverpool, Chester, Manchester or North Wales.
As a parent myself I understand the anxieties parents face when leaving their children in new environment.
Therefore, I aim to create a warm, home from home setting where parents feel comfortable to leave their child, knowing they’ll be in safe hands.
I aim for children to feel welcome and enjoy returning to my setting day after day as they learn and achieve together.
My services include, full and part time day care, wrap around care, this involves dropping off and picking up children for Oxton St Saviours Primary school.
I adhere to the EYFS and have a wide range of activities for children to access that are suitable for all stages of learning and development. I encourage learning through play and prepare activities which are based on children's interests and stages of development.
I work from my spacious playroom. The playroom leads out into my garden which we try to access daily and give the children as much outdoor time as possible.
I also live not too far from a few parks and green spaces which I try to take the children to regularly.
There are parent and toddler groups available within walking distance from my home which I love to attend so the children get to socialise with other children.

My Experience
I have lots of experience with children aged 0 - 5 years from my previous job as a nursery nurse.
I have worked across all areas of the nursery, baby room, toddler and pre-school. I enjoyed working with all the age groups and organising different activities for the children as well as observing them as they grow. I developed a good relationship with the manager and owner of the nursery I previously worked in. I have a reference from the owners of the nursery if parents wish to see it.
Prior to this I worked in a primary school.
I am qualified in child care up to degree level.
I also have a first aid certificate.
I have references from previous employers I can present to any one considered using my service.
My Qualifications
I have a BTEC in Early years.
BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies Combined with Education
9 GCSE's including; GCSE Child Development grade B
My Availability
Open 8am to 5.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am -1pm on Friday. Aditional fees apply outside of these hours.
