About Me
My name is Annette DaCosta and I have been a Registered Childminder in Brighton and Hove for 23 years. I live with 2 of my children aged 15 and 13) and have cared for children from 5 months to 11 years old. Parents current and previous would be more than happy to provide testimonials of their/their child's relationship with me and at my home setting, should you need them to.
I live in the Queens Park/Hanover/Elm Grove part of the City but can provide pick-ups/drop offs from anywhere if they fit in with our schedule so please do ask. I have an 8 seater camper fully insured for childminding which is so useful as our trips out side are not just confined to local areas but much further afield such as Middle Farm and fruit-picking at Roundstone Farm.
My 3 bedroomed home is on a quiet street with free parking making it easy for parents to drop-off and pick up without having to dash out of the door. I have a large garden. There is a playhouse on the ground for children to enjoy. There is a selection of ride-on toys as well as outdoor games and amusements. We can often be found outside eating lunch, digging for worms, planting/gardening or wondering at the beauty of slow worms.
The resources in my home cater for the needs of children from the very youngest to the very oldest and it is best to come and visit to see my practice for yourself so we can discuss your requirements together. I work within the Government set guidelines for young children which is called The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to ensure that all children achieve the very best that they can. The activities I provide help children to socialise well with other children and adults whilst making sense of the world around them.
My Experience
I have a BA Hons Degree in the field of children's care, development and education. I think it is important to continue my own professional development whilst working with children - so that I can provide the very best care. I achieved my BA Hons Degree in Professional Studies in Learning and Development (Early Years) in July 2015.

My Availability
My availability fluctuates according the children I am looking after on that particular day and often, two days are never the same so it is best to call me and for us to discuss availability when you are looking for childcare. Anything I may post here now may well be out of date by the time you're looking so feel free to call anytime.
