My Summary

My Experience

I am a full time teaching assistant working in one of the best schools in Coventry alongside an amazing teacher. I am responsible for supporting individual and small groups of children with their reading/literacy, math and writing. My job role involves getting all children i support to meet the Early Learning Goal by the end of Reception, this means every child should be able to read, write and know basic maths before they go to year one.

I work with children of all abilities including those with English as a second language. As part of my job role i am responsible for organising and implementing intervention sessions for those children who might be failing behind. I run writing, reading and maths sessions on a daily basis making sure each child is at the age expected level.

Alongside my current experience working as a Teaching Assistant, I have 3 years experience of working as a nanny looking after children from ages 1 to 12. To add to my nanny experience I have worked as a nursery practitioner for 5 years and my duties included changing nappies, potty training children, feeding, planning and implementing age related activities in accordance with the Early Years Curriculum. To add to my professional experiences, I have a 5 month year old nephew whom I have helped to look after since birth and have really enjoyed the experience.

I am also happy to help bridge the gap and support Reception children with their literacy and maths alongside the fun and creative activities I provide as I understand that children have missed a lot of learning due to the pandemic.
