Hello, my name is Roshni and I work in East Dulwich and live in Sydenham.
I am a British nanny, with a great sense of adventure! I am a very caring person, with a big heart. I am extremely hard working, I work well on my own but am also happy to follow instructions and routines. I take great pride in my work and I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and they definitely bring out the best in me. I am a very fair nanny and am a great believer in being consistent with children, so that they always know what is expected of them.
My Experience
I have always been around children and started looking after my younger cousins when I was 16 years old, mostly at the weekends and during the school holidays. I would prepare meals for them and make sure they were entertained and well cared for.
In 2009, I started working as a nanny in Australia, I worked for two different families over a one year period. I looked after a one year old and a 4 year old.
I moved to London in September 2012, to work as a live in nanny. I looked after their daughter, mostly before and after school and during some of the school holidays. I was responsible for preparing meals, doing the school run, organising playdates, supervising homework and then making sure she was well cared for in the evenings, bathed and ready for bed.
Whilst I was free during school hours, I had several part time jobs. I worked as a mother's help (2013-2014) to look after twins. I helped out with all baby duties and also household jobs that needed to be done. I also cared for a newborn in 2016.
I have been at my current position since September 2022. I work four days a week, caring for two boys who are now 6 and 3. I am responsible for all aspects of childcare. I also do all their washing, I keep the kitchen and playroom clean and tidy
I have a clean driving license and my own car, which I use for work at the moment.
My Qualifications
I have a degree in Biological Sciences, from the University of Leicester and a PGCE (Primary) from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Although I have not pursued a career in teaching, I am very passionate about learning and think it can easily be brought into many areas of playing. I also love to read and think it plays an important part in learning and development.
My Availability
I am open to different options, but ideally I would like to work full days (9-10 hours). I am happy to do evening babysitting, the odd weekend and/or overnight stays.
