About Me
We are a mother and daughter team of OFSTED registered childminders. As there are two of us you can be certain that your child will have the best care possible!! Following our Ofsted inspection in January 2020 we were both pleased to have receive a good and outstanding grade. We were happy that the inspector recognised how happy and settled the children in our care are. She also commented on how well the children are supported to enable them to make excellent progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We work very hard to achieve a good balance of play, fun and learning and our time is carefully planned to include adult led and child initiated activities. Our aim is to enable each child to become confident and independent little people who are happy and sociable. We look after children of varying ages and operate very much like a big family.
We provide a warm, safe and fun setting for your gorgeous little bundles in a home from home environment. We have a great range of resources available including a dedicated playroom. Most of our resources are easily accessible for the children so that they are able to self select during child initiated play. We have lots of resources for babies and are able to make a special baby area when required with lots of colourful play mats, bouncy chairs and age appropriate toys. We have a large enclosed garden, which has a playhouse and plenty of space for fantastic outdoor fun. Outdoor play is an integral part of our day and the children enjoy sand and water play, investigation areas, mini beast hunts, outdoor mark making and reading as well as lots of physical activities. We enjoy going on lots of fun outings and encourage our children to take part in as many different activities as possible including arts and crafts, role play, music and movement, small world play, mark making, counting and sorting, gross and fine motor skills activities and much, much more! We provide healthy meals and snacks and provide a 3 weekly menu for all of our families with information relating to allergies. We are happy to provide copies of some of the references that we have received from previous families that we have worked with.

My Experience
Rebecca is a qualified primary school teacher with 6 years experience in primary school. I have worked in Nursery, Reception, year one and year five classes and have now got over 10 years of experience working as a registered childminder. Lindsay has over 20 years experience as a childminder.
My Qualifications
* Rebecca has a BA QTS in Primary Teaching. We have both completed all of the child minding and first aid training.
*We are constantly updating our knowledge with regular courses in many areas relevant to caring for and the wellbeing of young people.
* Rebecca is currently completing a qualification in child psychology.
My Availability

Our son has been going to Butterflies and Bumblebees since he was 8 months old. (He’ll be 3 in Feb).
We are forever grateful that Becca messaged us on here when we first started looking for childcare.
When we first went to meet Becca and Lindsay we just knew it was the right place for our son to go. They were both so friendly and caring and we knew it would be the right fit for us all.
Our son is the most confident, chatty and sociable little man and a huge part of this is to do with the learning, development and social skills he has picked up at his time in this setting.
Not only do they provide him with copious amounts of activities that include fine motor skills, shapes, numbers, baking, drawing and painting, they also take them out on some lovely day trips and throw some fantastic seasonal parties for the little ones.
Our son has made some lovely little friends and he cannot wait to see them every day, along with some of the older children who he really looks up to.
He also likes to tell us every single day what Becca made him for dinner and what their plans are for the next day.

We moved to the area 1 yr ago and reviewed a few nurseries. Butterflies and Bumblebees felt like the right fit. Its a mother and daughters set up. The house is warm and inviting. Their passion and love for kids, your kids, is there number 1 priority. The days are filled with educational fun and fantastic crafts- ones you actually want to put up in the hall ways! Their outings are amazing and varied. My now 2yr old son who was a bit nervous, settled in really well and fast which was a great relief for me. Added benefit, is Butterflies and Bumblebees also do school aftercare for Danetree and my son has thrived on the relationships with the older children. He gets the best of both worlds, personal attention on activities of his age group and then stretches his development further, learning from the older children- dancing, playing ball out in the back, language kindness, etc...We were lucky to get a spot.

My daughter has been looked after in this childminder setting for almost 5 years since she was 8 months old - at first being looked after during the day as a baby and toddler, and now receiving wrap around care now she is at school.
I have always had total confidence that my daughter is being well looked after and is safe and secure.
The care received has also contributed massively to her learning and development right from when she was a baby up until preparing for school and beyond.
The setting feels just like a family with big children and little children building positive relationships with one another.
There have always been loads of fun activities and creative ideas for everyone, they are always planning wonderful things for the children to do.
There is brilliant communication with parents too.
At pick up time there are always lots of happy smiling faces from the children.
I feel so lucky to have found this childminder and am really pleased to recommend to other parents.
