Experienced registered Childminder. I am a mother of two grown up girls, Sophia who enjoys working in the administrative sector, Jade a veterinary surgeon and a grandmother to two lovely children. We share our home with Skye our little whippet.
My Experience
After a very rewarding and successful career in childcare (over 30 years) which included mentoring new childminders for what was then NCMA now known as Pacey. Ran a local vacancy scheme for Buckinghamshire County Council, helped run several local toddler groups. Been part of quality assured childminding networks and consistently graded ‘Outstanding’ in my last four inspections. I decided to try a new career and moved into the world of sales training and coaching . I sadly missed the little people whose smiles and antics bought so much to my day. I decided to return to childcare and became a senior nursery nurse co-ordinating the care of children aged approximately 16 months to 3 years in a nursery. I then decided to return to childminding and look forward to once again: Playdough, cooking, trips to the park, arts, crafts, smiles tears and everything in between. I have now moved to Devon to be nearer my grand children and still wish to continue childminding.
In short I have bundles of experience, a plethora of qualifications. But most of all patience, understanding, kindness, and a genuine affection for children and childminding.

We have been extremely happy with the care our son has received, and the great progress he has made whilst in Amanda’s care. Amanda’s home is always welcoming, clean and well organized but above all this it’s Amanda’s warmth and friendliness and a no-nonsense approach which sets her apart from other childminders.
Amanda is the most incredible childminder and person you’d ever wish to be in the care of your child, the moment I met Amanda I was reassured she was the only person to look after my little one. Amanda has the most warming of presence and makes you feel at ease instantly.
Amanda is super organised with her weeks filled in advance of days out that are structed for the children’s ages, their interests and takes their personal needs into account, at home the children have a huge range of toys and activities to keep them busy. Amanda is dedicated to the children and will tailor her planning to incorporate my child’s interests or a family/special event coming up. The children are super busy in their days like visiting playgroups, library visits, museum visits, park trips and National Trust and have a whole wide support circle of other childminders they regularly meet with, so the children have a range of age groups and a big circle of friends.
It was because of Amanda’s great understanding and relationship with our son that she picked up on his speech not developing as it should do due to all the advanced courses Amanda regularly attends and so with her support my son received Speech Therapy which he flew through having 1 session each month for 8 months – this again is because of Amanda’s on hand practice with him and explaining to us at home ways to help further his speech, I do not believe we’d have received such personalised care if he’d attended a larger setting and that he’d not have successfully completed his course without her commitment.
Our son has felt like a part of Amanda’s family so much, so he has a very sweet close bond to Chris and adores Bambi & Bracken along with the ‘stars’ of the pet zoo – the two tortoises, oh and Bunny! Meals are always freshly made and enjoyed, I haven’t once heard our son complain about not enjoying Amanda’s food or ever being hungry. Amanda has also provided me with flexibility when unforeseen family events or work commitments have a risen, she has been on hand to support us.

Amanda is a kind and caring person. I didn't get a childminder for my daughter so when I had to get one for my little boy I was very nervous about leaving him with a stranger. but as soon as I met her I knew Amanda was the one to leave him with.
Her house is very child friendly she does lots of activities with him and loads of educational stuff.
can't praise her enough!!
