I am genuinely a very caring person and my aim as a child-minder is to encourage developmental growth in a loving and safe environment where every child will be treated with respect and as my own.
I graduated from North Staffordshire University in 1989 with a HND in Business Studies and after spending many years working in the retail/business sector, I recently decided to fulfil my dream of becoming a registered child-minder as I have always had a strong desire to work with children. Many of my friends and family have commented over the years about my natural rapport and style with children as I am a very innovative and creative person with lots of energy and enthusiasm by nature.
I share my home with my son, Oliver who is 21 and currently working, Oliver is a complete sport’s enthusiast and a real credit to me. I am very proud of him and his achievements to date. He is an honest, reliable and trustworthy young man who is also very considerate and caring towards others.
I am a friendly, open and approachable person and will always be happy to discuss any aspect of your child’s care including any established routines as I believe that working in partnership with the parent(s) can only enhance the learning and development of the individual child and that good communication will benefit everyone. After all, it is you who knows your child best. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I am flexible if you require hours or days outside the normal hours and weekdays. My hourly fees are very competitive but also negotiable and outing costs are included.
What can you expect from my setting?
• A caring, loving, safe home
• EYFS based pre-school curriculum with ongoing observations and communication on your child’s progress including a daily diary/learning journal with photos if appropriate
• Outings, playtime fun, music, singing and dancing, arts& crafts, computer time, story time and theme based activities depending on the time of year/special events
• Nutritious and healthy snacks and meals
• Uncompromising health & safety with high levels of hygiene
• A safe, enclosed outdoor play area at the rear
• Age appropriate toys and books
My Experience
I am experienced in working with children of all ages and fully dedicated to my ongoing personal and professional development. I offer 2,3 & 4 year old funding within my setting and aim to allow every child the opportunities they require for their individual learning and development. I hold a clean driving licence and all of my training is up to date as required by Ofsted.- First aid, Safeguarding, Senco, DBS, Food hygiene (certificates available if required).

HABC Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF) 2019
Food hygiene awareness

Local Authority approved provider for the Achieving Two year Old Programme (free childcare provision)
Regularly attend training/meetings provided by the Local Authority
I hold a clean driving license and have public liability, home and car insurance and both I and Oliver hold Enhanced certificates from the Disclosure & Barring service (DBS checked).

My son William has been with Dawn since he was 7 months old old and he is now almost 3. Dawn is fantastic with the children and they do lots of activities through the week. My son has flourished since being with Dawn and he is extremely happy when he goes to Dawns. My plan is to keep him with Dawn for the foreseeable future as Dawn is very reliable and trustworthy and the children love her to bits.
