My Experience

I worked at a children's activity centre in Shropshire where I was a team leader and an activity instructor.

My main duties as a team leader for the children for their stay was making sure they were clean and washed in the mornings, made sure they ate, got personal care done in the mornings and night, getting ready for bed and general taking care of!

Also playing group games inside and outside! Dealing with individual personal needs.

As an instructor, I was mainly making sure the kids had fun on their activities and were safe doing so! I loved working there with the children, but I moved areas so had to finish. I loved building great relationships with each individual, but was sad to see them leave at the end of their stay!

I have also worked at a Residential Home for Adults with Learning Disabilities as a care worker for over 10 years, where I supported the clients with their daily activities and personal care, also managed challenging behaviour daily. I have also worked with children with learning disabilities as well, this was amazing I enjoyed it very much. I spent time working with children in this area in an afterschool club in Shrewsbury, I also supported these children one to one all through the summer holidays with day trips and outings.

I have 8 years experience as a nanny/babysitter/housekeeper, I have worked with 4 families, 2 of them were in Hertfordshire and the other 2 families were in Shrewsbury. My Duties Included pickups and drop offs from school & nursery and after-school clubs, preparing and serving dinner, lunch boxes, homework, and also some ironing and cleaning if expected. Through the summer I would take them out to parks, swimming and played a lot of sports, also attended any clubs parents wanted them involved with.

I also spent a short time at a nursery in Shrewsbury problem around 3 months.

I found that it wasn’t for me and nannying was much more enjoyable.
