About Me
Hi, my name is Dawn. I have two adult children, my son is 21 years old and pops home from Uni from time to time and my daughter is 24 years old lives in London. I run my Childminding business from my home in Locks Heath, Hampshire.
I have been a childminder since October 2004, and I have loved every minute (almost!). I am registered with Ofsted and I'm fully insured, including public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.
I have a current PFAA Paediatric First Aid Certificate. I hold a level 3 Certificate in Childminding Practice. I also hold a number of other certificates including Advance Child Protection.
I am registered with Hampshire County Council (Services for Young Children) to provide Early Years Education to eligible children from 9 months to 4 years old, funding scheme.
I provide a safe and stimulating home from home environment where every child in my care is able to develop their social, emotional, intellectual and physical skills.
Each day we have a wide variety of activities to develop each child depending on their age and stage of development. My home is child orientated, where safety is paramount. I attend regular training courses to ensure my knowledge and understanding of all aspects of childcare and development are kept up to date.
We do not have any pets. I don't smoke and smoking is not permitted in my home or garden.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which brings together the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage (2000), the Birth to Three Matters (2002) framework and the National Standards for Under 8s Daycare and Childminding (2003). I have taken the relevant training on the EYFS.
Term time I take and collect children from Locks Heath Infant and Junior Schools.
I am available to mind children Monday to Friday, 7.30am until 6.00pm. (Extended hours are available on request)

Worked in the hospitality industry for 7 years before having two wonderful children. Then became a childminder in 2004 working with children from 4 months to 12 years old.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Childminding from £5.25 per hour
The childminding fee depends on the number of hours and days required each week your child is looked after. Fees will be discussed at a first meeting.
I will charge the normal contracted fee if my service is available, and if it is a contracted time a child is due in my care, but the place is not being used, i.e. child is ill or on holiday, I will expect full payment.
If I withdraw my service - except for contracted time off - then I will not expect to receive payment.
I will take up to 20 days holiday a year from January to December, to which I will endeavor to give at least 4 weeks written notice. I am not available to work on Bank Holidays, therefore there will be no fee charged for either Bank Holidays or my holiday.
