About Us
Happycrew is a wonderful private Nursery based within the grounds of Margaret Wix Primary School in St Albans (run separately). We have extensive access to safe, outdoor space and provide enriching, stimulating activities that are tailored to the individual child’s age and stage of development. At Happycrew our aim is for families and children to always remember how we made them feel: safe, heard, unique, valued and cherished.
Happycrew Childcare Ltd has successfully run for over 10 years, with the brand new Happycrew Nursery opening its doors in January 2023.
We have three gorgeous rooms: a Baby Room for 0 to 18 months, a Toddler Room for our 18 month to 3 year olds, and a Pre-School Room for 3 to rising 5 years. Each room has a home from home feel, with lots of natural resources and opportunities for open ended play. The setting also has a gated private garden and the children do all have time together throughout the day. We also have full access to a beautiful forest school, an allotment, playgrounds, outdoor reading nook, stage and huge green space all within the school grounds.
We specialise in love, fun, and enjoyment. All learning is achieved through play and is child initiated where possible.

Our Fees
- Childcare from £93.00 per day
Our fees are £93 per day, fully inclusive of nappies, wipes, home cooked meals and snacks and everything your child will need.
Fees are payable 52 weeks of the year.

Mienna and Happycrew looked after our son for two years (from 12 months old) and we were really lucky to find them.
They provided a perfect balance between a nursery and family-based childminder so he had a small peer group and familiar adults to look after them all. Natural resources and a focus on developing children's curiosity through child-led play was perfect for encouraging his interests and play.
He has now gone to pre-school ready for the next stage ahead. He will really miss Happycrew but has had a great start to his early years.
Overall
Our son and daughter both love their days at Happycrew. I was worried about them settling in as my oldest had to transition from another setting and my daughter has some additional needs, but Mienna worked with us on a really flexible plan and they now run through the door in the morning without looking back!
The setting is outdoors focused and perfectly suited to let the children explore and play freely. There are no highchairs and meal times look really inclusive with them all sat round a low table together like a family. There are always new activities and games that we hear about, and they come home singing new songs every week. When we pick them up they're almost always smiling and happy and have eaten lots of lovely nourishing food.
I feel really grateful to have found such a wonderful setting.

Our 2 year-old son has settled quickly and really well at Happycrew, he loves going there every day and he has really grown and learnt a lot since going there. It is a lovely setting and they do so many fun and different activities with the children. We are so happy that we found Happycrew!

Our daughter absolutely loves going to Happycrew, she is always happy when she arrives and when I collect her. She even asks to go at the weekend! They always put so much effort into giving the children a variety of experiences and are so creative with their activities, they do something different every day. They are outdoors all the time getting fresh air, and the food they provide is always varied and sounds yummy! They create a wonderful inclusive atmosphere, and are always encouraging the children to develop into independent little people. We couldn't be happier to send our daughter there. We never worry about her, and know she will be having a great time and being truly cared for.

My daughter has been with Happycrew since she was 5 months old and she has always loved it. I've never had any worries about leaving her, I think she has more fun there than she does at home! The happycrew team are now part of our family and their love and care for our daughter is invaluable.
