My Experience

I first became a registered Childminder in 1990, after spending 2 years working as a nanny in Canada.

When I left college in 1987 after completing my NNEB, all I wanted was to work with small groups of children.

I felt I could provide enhanced quality care & education this way.

My experience comes from over 30 years caring for children from birth up to the age of 13, both full & part time nannying & Childminding since I first registered in 1990

My work with children is based around The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Each child’s welfare, learning & development are planned through suitable & appropriate activities & experiences, whilst their individual needs, combined with a safe, secure & stimulating environment help them to thrive.

There is a healthy balance of indoor & outdoor activities & most days we go for walks to the park, woods or to feed the ducks along the canal. There’s nothing like splashing in puddles!

I am a member of The 'Forest Childcare Association' and ensure the children have access to outdoor activities on a regular
basis.
Myself and a small group of childminders share an allotment for use by the children for growing fruit, vegetables, plants and outdoor activities.
We have included a mud kitchen too which the children have the freedom to enjoy.

Childminder & Toddler groups are enjoyed weekly which help build on social skills, through a range of activities.

Regular trips to the library, seaside, farms & picnics are enjoyed on the bus, train & in the car.

Childrens self-esteem & confidence grow through enriching & worthwhile experiences, which help to build positive attitudes & skills for their future.

I aim to provide all the children in my care with healthy meals, snacks & drinks. Occasional treats will be offered at birthdays & special times.

My policy is to follow the Smiling for Life Agreement. This encourages childrens interest & enjoyment in a wide variety of healthy food choices & enhances physical & mental well being.

Ofsted registered & inspected

Recent Ofsted report graded Outstanding December 2023

Fully trained and Accredited to provide Early Years education for 3 & 4 year olds, 2 year olds & 9 months

Please ask for details to see if your child qualifies for 15 hours or 30 hours per week.

Qualified NNEB (Nursery Nurse) with over 30 years experience.

Professional training is an ongoing commitment & ensures my practice is continually improving.

Upcoming vacancies

Subsidised 30 hours per week for working parents/ 15 hours per week from 9 months, 2,3 and 4 year olds
Extra hours may be added at cost if required.

For other general childcare arrangements,
I am available from 8am Monday to Thursday with your required hours discussed

Earlier start times can be arranged. Please don't hesitate to ask.

The setting is open every day except Bank Holidays &
7 weeks per year, which are generally taken during school holidays.
