About Me

Hello
I'm Rachael, I am living in leatherhead and seeking my next nanny opportunity with my forever nanny family. I can provide 5 referances from previous employers who can all vouch for my passion, caring nature, patience, reliability and initiative.

I am a qualified level 2 and 3 nanny, with a range of trianing including;
Child protection
Food hygiene
Safeguarding young people
Smile award
I also have my current up to date DBS, first aid trianing and ABA therapy training, global delay and speech delay.

I pride myself on providing an outstanding childcare service and providing referances to support this.

I have been working in childcare for 9 years, 1.5 years I have been predominantly a houskeeper/cook cleaning a 6 bedroom private estate home and cooking meals for the family.
2.5 of these years I have been a live in nanny for a family where I had built a childcare portfolio including all the eyfs planning and activities I provided for this family.
1.5 years I had been a teaching assistant in a school taking over classrooms from foundation to year 6 and providing lesson plans
3.5 years as a nursery practitioner taking on a group of 12 children at a time and monitoring their progress, communication with parents and planning my own activities for my children
I am a fun, compassionate, reliable nanny with a passion for childcare. You will never have to micromanage me as I always use initiative in tasks.
I have worked in fun, stimulating environments and created eyfs learning environments for my families and previous roles and can pride myself on knowing I can provide a outstanding learning experience for your child.

I then will cook -(if required) and then 2 hours ironing end of the day. I have experience with delicate items, silks, and wools, cashmere, wood furnishings, and use eco friendly products (method mostly). I keep most areas stocked including all cleaning products, toilet rolls, towels, replenishing stock where necessary. I do oven cleans, hoovering, sofa cleans, cooking, toilet and bathroom, bedrooms, Dusting, window cleans etc.

Live in Nanny
Childcare.co.uk - West London-Harrow
Children’s ages: 14 months and 3.5
June 2020 to September 2021
I was a nanny housekeeper for a family based in Harrow.
My day to day was as follows:
Get children up and dressed, Making breakfast, Making pack lunches for older child, Take older child to school. My day then becomes mainly focused on the 14 month old where I planned activities and set up the room for eyfs learning. This includes the key and prime areas of learning to support development. I prepared the lunch for the 14 month old depending what mum wants me to make for him, but it was usually a rice or pasta dish with veggies cut up, veggie snacks, lasagne, quiche, cottage pie, Bolognese, fish dishes and chicken dishes. We then go out for fresh air in garden, to parks, and just let children be children and learn and explore and play while having fun.
Then the older boy came home and we play with toys and promote his speech And then prepare snacks. I will then let children independent play while i do housekeeping, using eco friendly products made by hand and put on washing and other house hold help Ready for handover to mum of the day.
Within this role I have had autistic experience, the 3.5 year old has autism where I have been able to practise ABA and other therapies to help promote speech and language.
I set up provisions within the home of tracking children’s learning and progress using Eyfs and activities for the children. This was implemented and I have a portfolio of pictures of activities I had provided for this family.
This role is a full time 7 to 6 role Monday to Friday. Live in position.
Left due to moving to leatherhead.

Teaching Assistant
Pepper Hill - Milton Keynes
July 2019 to July 2020
Within my role as a teaching assistant I got to plan and prepare activities for children aged 2 years to 6 years. I used the eyfs and children's developmental milestones to plan these activities for certain children adapting where needed. Below I have listed what my main duties and responsibitlies were
• taking over classroom provision for teachers
• Preparing classrooms for activities
• Planning activities
• Taking charge of a class and taking observations of children to keep track of development relating back to eyfs.
• Preparing healthy snack and understanding importance of healthy living
• Safeguarding
• Administrating first aid
This role enabled me to gain knowledge on different children’s learning from foundation to year 6. I was able to take over classrooms and implement ideas. My ideas where always acknowledged and was able to use my ideas in classrooms for lessons and lesson planning. This enabled me to have more independence on lesson plans and taking over of classrooms.
Left due to wanting to persue a career in nannying and being more independent in a job role.

Early Years Practitioner
Ducklings Nursery - Milton Keynes
June 2016 to July 2019
My roles and responsibilities included; Looking after a key group of children and ensuring the safety of all children. Preparing snacks. Assisting in child's play and developing their physical, intellectual, emotional and social skills. I also filled out folders (progress trackers), go on school trips and assist my manager with work that needs doing. my role as a key worker / early years practitioner meant i progressed over the years with my knowledge of childcare, Safeguarding children, first aid and helping children grow and explore through play and using EYFS (early years foundation system) to help children meet targets. We worked in the moment planning. This means we had a blank planning sheet and as the day goes on put down what they access throughout the day and making sure it's all child lead. We were also a loose parts play setting and prided ourselves on giving children access to all play where a child is control of their own imagination and play. The role taught me valuable experience in letting a child access their own toys and their own play. Was offered deputy manager position however I turned down for a primary school role to focus more on older children.

Cleaner (part-time)
Palace day nursery - Milton Keynes
July 2017 to October 2017
Within my role here I was mainly a cleaner 2 hours a day 5 days a week. I cleaned toilets, sinks, replenished low stock of tissues and other essentials, I hovered all areas of the nursery, emptied bins, wiped down surfaces, ensured was all clean and tidy before shutting the nursery down. I also covered bank staff and enjoyed being a part of a team and helping them on my time off in holidays to assist where needed. Being bank staff meant I could get to know different areas of nursery from newborns to preschool age. This enables me to gain valuable skills which in turn I took back to the preschool with me.

Unqualified Nursery practitioner
Woodlands Day Nursery - Milton Keynes
January 2016 to June 2016
Responsibilities
• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of child is protected
• changing nappies
• cleaning
• tidying up and putting away toys
• ensuring risk assessment was carried out daily
• ensuring every child is treated as an equal
• enjoying yourself and being involved with a range of activities for children
• help with snack and meal times
• ensuring there is a correct amount of staff to children
During my role at Woodlands day nursery I learnt new skills from this job. The ability for me to be in various rooms from babies, toddlers and preschool meant I was able to gain the experience of working with a variety of ages which I thoroughly enjoyed and was able to use this as a step into my childcare career.
With this knowledge of various ages means I am able to use the skills I learned in each room for each age range and know how different ages mean different play and different activities.

Work Experience Placement
Olney preschool - Milton Keynes
September 2014 to July 2015
Responsibilities
I have studied Health and social care level 3 diploma. As part of the course i took my placement at Olney pre school where i gained experience in working with children. Whilst there my duties included;
Assisting the class teacher in the running of the class on and daily basis and making sure that structure to implanted activities took place.
To maintain the safety and welfare of the children , which included aiding with in injuries and making sure these were recorded .
To be aware of confidentiality as well as safety . Be actively involved in lessons and activities
be aware of the curriculum which was being followed. I also worked as a team and used my initiative to set up other activities where I was able to work alone with the children, where I would go about reading and doing arts and crafts with them , in order to help with their learning and personal development I have a strong passion in wanting to work with children and this is shown in my chosen college course . This is a carer path which I would love to undertake and feel that an apprenticeship will assist my learning , development and skills. It will also aid me in learning new skills, keeping up to date with my education and assist me in gaining newer skills. I would consider myself to be calm , able to work under pressure , kind , caring and empathetic, therefore a childcare apprenticeship would help me to carry on with the career path which I have chosen for myself.

I met Rachael Risborough for an interview and she came across as being very nice and a competent nanny. She accepted our job offer and sent me all of her documents but a week before starting she’s stopped communicating and changed her location to Mole Valley nanny.

Thankyou Sophia for this review.
I will not retaliate my end to give such bad reviews without full information.
You already asked me to give less notice to my current employer than nessesary which I agreed to, this in turn made my current workplace alot harder and was taking on more hours and finding it very difficult to even balance a life on top of every single thing (including personal things).
On top of this we are stressing with our move, as we now have found out our whole house fell through hence the recent postcode change. Communication was kept until I knew what I was going to do myself.
I was really happy to start working with you and I think alot of my past employers and people I have worked for will always say I thoroughly communicate and I apologise if this past week I haven't.
If you can see someone's life and struggles first hand when everything is going wrong, maybe the judgment would not be so cruel to leave a 1 star review with no information.
