Hi, I am Angela, a 47 year old mother of three and live with my partner and children aged 20, 18 and 15. I first began childminding in 2005. I offer a home based childcare provision with an open plan living area, toy room and separate sleeping areas, which is located in a small friendly close within the catchment of Hawkedon Primary School.

Children have access to a free flow secure garden area with play equipment on a daily basis, we regularly go out on bikes, ride-ons and scooters and we are fortunate to have a large park area with field, woodland and play equipment around the corner. In addition there are a number of nature areas, ponds, lakes and play areas that we visit within the local area. I am a Forest Childcare Provider, meaning I place a high emphasis on outdoor activities and we spend time outdoors almost every day of the year walking, running, splashing in muddy puddles, climbing trees, feeding the ducks, going on nature trails and just having fun outside.

The children attending my setting are happy and enjoy the time they spend here because they feel safe and secure which enables them to learn more effectively. I talk to parents regularly and am available for more detailed discussions as needed. I plan activities on a weekly basis which parents can see in advance on the notice board, considering the children's next steps and current interests to choose appropriate activities based on our current topics and books. The children also participate in free play where they are able to choose their own activities, toys and games to play. A typical week would include story times, messy play, crafts, painting, play dough, trips to the park or places such as Dinton Pastures, Wellington Country Park and Beale Park, sand and water play, daily outdoor activities as well as toddler groups and music sessions. Overall I aim to offer each child a loving, caring home from home environment whilst in my care and hope to provide childcare that helps you as a parent by knowing your little ones are safe, cared for and having fun as they would at home.

I am Paediatric First Aid trained and hold a level 2 in Food Safety & Hygiene.

When not working I particularly enjoy outdoor activities with my family such as walks and visits to National Trust sites, bike rides and trips to the coast. I love to ski when I get the opportunity, enjoy cooking, entertaining friends and family and eating out.
