About Me

Hi

My name is Philippa. I have been a nanny for 14 years.
I am a happy and bubbly person with an enthusiastic approach to playing & caring for children. I enjoy being outside and social with children, aiming to provide a variety of experiences for them with days out and adventures to local parks and groups.

Over the years I have worked with many families and children of all ages. I am now a Mum to my own two boys now (aged 6 & 3) who have always previously come to work with me. Starting this September they will be at full time school & part time preschool, so I am looking for a family to work with, who may also allow them to join me if the occasion arises.

I qualified June 2010 from college with a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education from birth to 16 years.
I have also completed the OCN Postnatal Maternity Care Award to further my knowledge on caring for newborns and Mums after birth.

I have a clear Enhanced DBS check, I am also Pediatric First Aid trained

I have a clean full UK driving license and my own car of which I am happy to use at work

My Experience

In July 2021 I had my second child, I returned to work with him September 2022 and have found a real best friend in the little girl I currently care for part time. We both enjoy our day working and the children have made a great relationship with each other during all of our adventures. This will be coming to a natural end with both children starting at preschool.

April 2019 - May 2021. At this time I went back to work with my son part time for 2/3 days a week caring for another two boys aged 2 & 4 years. The boys became like brothers to my own little boy and all enjoyed each others company playing together, especially over the several lockdowns. During this time I also helped with homeschooling their eldest, but tried to make sure all the boys were still having plenty of fun whilst being at home and on walks / scooter rides locally.

In May 2018 I had my first little boy. He came back to work with me at the age of 4 months on an ad hoc basis caring for two girls aged 3 & 5 years.

May 2017 - April 2018. I started this job when the eldest boy was 18 months, 6 weeks ahead of his baby brother being born. When their youngest son was born Mum returned back to work 3 weeks after birth and I became both the boys full time Nanny. In this role I carried out all aspects of care including helping settling baby into a routine and managing all nanny duties for the boys. We enjoyed several classes weekly, as well as play dates, park trips and lots of playing in their rural garden.

August 2016 - May 2017. Leaving the twins I started working with two boys In reigate aged 3years & 10 months int he beginning. We had many adventures together. I provided a varied week for the boys and enjoyed playing both in and outside the home.

October 2013 - August 2016. I started with the twins when they were 17 weeks old. Throughout my time with them I was responsible for carrying out all aspects of their daily care, and have helped them hit all of their developmental milestones. This included things such as weaning them, adapting nap/ sleep times, transferring them from cots to beds, potty training etc. I have also been in charge of organising their activities and social classes such as ballet, football and music groups. As well as day trips to local farms, soft plays and the odd adventure to the beach or local theme park! My weekly tasks generally include all nanny duties, regular shopping for the childrens continuous needs and batch cooking.
I also did a few week long stays at the house with the children, whilst their parents went abroad.

Alongside this I regularly look after two more boys on an ad-hoc basis! I started working for this family in August 2010 when their youngest was just 8 months. I have helped the family with their second child from new born and have also holidayed with this family.

October 2011 - October 2013. Before this, I was with another family in Reigate full time for 2 years, looking after a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I started here when the boys were 11 months and 3 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the boys in all aspects of the job! As part of my job I did all 'nanny duties' including cooking, laundry, and ironing!

September 2010 - December 2011. My first job was a nanny-share for two children in Redhill, both 11 months old when I started. Both families had second children and unfortunately I was no longer needed

Throughout my college course I completed a number of placements in a variety of settings with age ranges 0-11 years
