My Summary
About Me
My name is Lorraine Clark. I am 37 years old and live with my husband Pete, our two daughters (aged 7 and 4 years old) and a very friendly cat called George.
I registered with Ofsted as a childminder in Royal Wootton Bassett (Rainy Days Childminding) in March 2014 after deciding to pursue a change of career when my first daughter was born. I used to be a Trading Standards Officer.
I would describe myself as a very caring person, who loves children. I am fun, full of enthusiasm and have lots of energy.
As a mum, I understand the pressures of finding good quality and reliable childcare that compliments your own beliefs and principles. It is therefore very important to me that I build and maintain a close partnership with parents. I aim to provide a stimulating and fun environment for children of all ages, yet keep it a relaxed place to emulate a home from home feeling.
I feel privileged to work with children and genuinely think I have the best job in the world!
My Experience
I am a mum of two and I have been a registered childminder with Ofsted for six years.
I was last inspected by Ofsted in January 2019 and was graded "Outstanding" in all areas.
I have looked after a number of different aged children, ranging from six months old to 10.
My daughter is allergic to milk and so I have experience in catering for allergies.
I am a full member of PACEY.
I have experience with caring for children with special educational needs and disabilities. I have experience in caring for children with cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
I can take children to and from Wootton Bassett Infants School.
My Qualifications
Introduction to Childminding Practice Certificate
Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Law degree

My son started with Lorraine when he was 9 months old, he settled in immediately and has loved every minute there since. He is now 2 1/2 and back with Lorraine after her maternity leave and has settled straight back in. He is treated like part of the family and has struck up a real friendship with Lorraine's eldest daughter.
The house is warm and welcoming and Lorraine organises lots of fun and educational activities for him, encouraging him to try things if he seems unsure. I know that he is well looked after and having lots of fun when he is there.
I can see that Lorraine gets real joy from spending time with the children and is very committed to her work.
