My Experience

I trained in BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies, which is a higher level course giving a thorough knowledge into child development and care, as well as workbased training.

After qualifying from college, I worked in a private Day Nursery for 5 years as a Nursery Nurse working with children between 6 months and 5 years old and progressed to Senior Nursery Nurse, responsible for child care and also supervising and training junior Nursery Nurses.

I then progressed to work for a Nursery within a large corporate company providing care to children from 0 mths to 5 years old. Again I progressed to a senior role with a responsibility to ensure Ofsted requirements were met and monitored for all children within my care.

After 5 years, I sought a new challenge and secured a role as a private Nanny for a local family were I worked for 7 years. The role has seen me provide support for the children's school work and after school activities and I am proud to have helped them develop to the children they are today.

I then moved on to become a nanny to a toddler, and his older sister during the holidays. During this time we have had many days out and participated in lots of exciting activities which has helped him develop into a confident little boy who is now ready to experience new challenges at pre-school.

For the past 13 months I have been nannying for a family where both are teachers and I have looked after their baby. I have had sole responsible of her from the age of 6 months old for 5 days a week. Throughout this role, I have established a strong relationship with both her and her family. We have a daily routine in place which includes various trips to toddler groups, parks, days out as well as helping her to develop her basic skills.

GCSE Various at grades A-C

In addition to my BTEC, I have attended a number of courses relevant to my role as child carer.
